Former Twitter Execs Testify Before House Oversight and Accountability Committee: Video

Former Twitter executives testified before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee today. Vijaya Gadde, the social network’s former chief legal officer, former deputy general counsel James Baker and former head of safety and integrity Yoel Roth were left speechless after being grilled by newcomer Florida congresswoman, Anna Paulina Luna.

The hearing centers on why Twitter restricted sharing the story regarding Hunter Biden in the New York Post, released in October 2020.

The Post said it had received a copy of a laptop hard drive from former President Trump’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani, the laptop Hunter Biden had dropped off 18 months earlier at a Delaware computer repair shop and never retrieved.

During the hearing, it was revealed as Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna questioned the former executives, evidence of a private chat forum called Jira used to communicate with government officials to coordinate censorship of the Hunter Biden story. Jira is an issue and project tracking software created by the Australian company Atlassian.

Congresswoman Luna asked Yoel Roth, “Do you remember communicating on a private cloud server [with government entities] to remove a posting? Yes or no.

Roth responded, “I don’t believe I can give you a yes or no answer.”

Luna replied, “Well, I’m gonna tell you right you, you did it… It is highly illegal, and I want you to know that you’ll be held accountable.”
