Did Mike Pence File To Run In 2024?

On Monday, rumors started flying on Twitter that Mike Pence had filed to run in the 2024 Presidential race. Yet Devin O’Malley, spokesperson for Pence, denies the claim despite the paperwork filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC).

Interesting to note, the form used to file with the FEC shows Pence’s name written in a non-formal manner: “Mr. Mike Richard Pence.”

While it is currently unknown who filed on Pence’s behalf, O’Malley is calling the filing a prank.

According to a Business Insider article that came out on July 7, 2020, this isn’t a new thing. 

Apparently it is quite easy for anyone with 15 minutes, a computer, and access to the internet, to file to run for President on the FEC site.
