How to Enter Your Ultimate Calling

Intro: Welcome to the Lance Wallnau Show. Lance is broadcasting from one of his most recent events. You are going to be blessed and blown away by this teaching. Take it away Lance. 

Lance: When Dennis Rodman was building his unique marketable value as a basketball player he would dye his hair and wear his paraphernalia his tattoos and his orange sneakers and such. And his branding partner said the more you stand out from the rest, the more marketable you are when you leave the profession. So there’s something the world knows about being a little bit eccentric and that is eccentricity is your brand distinction. So everyone of you needs to find out how God made you different because that’s your brand distinction. And so, I walk out with a whiteboard. I could easily use PowerPoint. Don’t you think when you’re talking to thousands of people? It’s hilarious really. I go to arena events. And they got thousands of people and they say,‘You got PowerPoints or going to use that whiteboard.’ I say, oh I’m using a whiteboard. Just get your camera on the whiteboard.

And they don’t know why I’m doing it. Well, I’m doing that because this is just what I do. And I do that with 5 people. I’ve been in restaurants. Where people bring a whiteboard into the restaurant at the table because they figured that’s what I do. Well okay. Let’s take a look at how we can model you out right now. Do you ready to do that? Let me model you individually and as a church and as a generation. See if I can do this succinctly in the time that I remaining and I want to start with Acts 13. First word I want you to catch is the word convergence. Say the word convergence. So, I’m going to dump some data on you but this is what professors do. There’restages in life we discovered. There’s the sovereign beginning stage. Sovereign beginning is an important stage. That’s the stage where you come into planet Earth.

Believe it or not, in spite of what the modern psychologist will tell you, you were given the gender that God prescribed for the destiny he has for you. God gave you certain talents, skills, and abilities. Some of you have an aptitude for color, some of an aptitude for math, some of an aptitude for physiology. You can actually do athletics well. Some of you are verbally depth, conceptually depth. Some of you don’t talk fast or think fast but you can fix things. You have a unique set of competencies that are hardwired into you. That’s called talent. Your job is to discover your talent and wrap skill around it so that the anointing can come upon it and supernaturally energized and so that you stand out unique from everybody else.

Sovereign beginnings means God put you in that dysfunctional family you were born in. I can’t explain it. he puts Joseph in with all those idiotic brothers but it’s all going to work out. God puts you in the period of history that you’re in and the gender that you’re in and the ethnicity that you’re in the family of origin that you’re in the time period that you’re in. How much of that determines your destiny a whole lot and God didn’t consult you about one of those items. He gives you the hand you got to play and then he gives you the word of God to show you how to play it and make it a winning hand. Sovereign beginnings. Then comes spiritual formation. You’re in church now. You know why? It took a lot of angels to get you where you are right now.

Someday when you get to heaven and the theater starts and the scroll comes down and Godshows you the movie of your life. You’re going to see how many times the devil tried to kill you. How many times he sends somebody to get you off track and destroy. How many times God had to intervene? Send an angel and change the plan. Change the plan. How did you get saved? That day was a sabotage from heaven to set up to take you down. You didn’t just decide 1 day, I think I’m going to go out and receive eternal life. I think today is a good day to meet the lord Jesus and settle the most important theological issue of my destiny. You’re out doing this or doing that and bumped into a divine appointment and that divine appointment somehow spoke to you. God set that up. How much work it took to get you where you are right now in church? Some of you fight every week getting to church. You know what I’m talking about.

Spiritual formation is when you got saved. It’s how you begin to follow Christ. How you experience God. How God drew you in. He gave you sober beginnings of spiritual formation. And then we got, you’re heading into this now after your fasting and prayer. It’s gift discovery and development. Very important piece of the puzzle. This is where you discover what it is that you’re actually called to do. What it is that you’re destined to do. What is it you’re good at doing? What is it you’re talented at doing? And God can take, there’s no such thing as a good or bad hand. This is the amazing thing. One of the studies that I was making once was looking at apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers.

Surely, if you can just get God to give you one of those kinds of offices, you have the best life possible. Then, I was reading and I realized that one of the most powerful gifts in the body of Christ is an uncelebrated gifts called the gift of helps. The gift of helps is just listed in there along with a bunch of other gifts It’s a gift of administrative ability to assist the angelic realm in manifesting something. God needs a person to administer on planet Earth. This is where you create the greatest organizations, the greatest networks, the greatest machinery, the greatest enterprise comes out of a gift of help. It’s not necessarily an apostle or a prophet.

So, my wife for instance, I’ll give you a quick study on her. So, Annabelle’s an interesting study on convergence. Convergence is the stage that I’m heading into here after you go through spiritual, sovereign beginnings. God gives you your gifts, talents, abilities, time, period history, gender, birth order, and dysfunctional family of origin. Then you go over here to spiritual formation. You get saved. You may be getting delivered. You may be getting filled with the holy ghost. You’re going to church. Took a lot of angels to get you there. A lot of demons got squashed on the way and there’s still a battle over you, but you’re in formation. Now you’re about to discover what you’re gifted and called to do. God doesn’t show you that till you go through some formation. You got a little foundation there. So you’re not chasing just the dream. You’re building a foundation. Because your character will empower you to stay in the place where gifts promote you to succeed. So if you’re promoted to succeed making money but you got a gambling problem, guess what happens to your money? So, you got gift development. God starts to do that.

Now, out of that gift development, we’re heading into this this next stage here is coming up. We’re heading into that convergence zone, convergence. Look at that combustion there. That’s when your gifts and your talents and your passion, what it is you want to do. And your anointing, what God put on you starts to converge with a need that shows up and an invitation from God to meet that need in a role that empowers you to do what you were created to do before you were born. When you’re in convergence, you’re walking in a script that is unfolding before you get there. That’s why people love prophecy, because it implies that there’s an overarching narrative and story line to their destiny and that God actually knows 5 chapters down where you’re supposed to be.

Well, who wouldn’t be interested in that book? It’s the book of your future and the prophecy basically says, this is where your face is in the future and your mission in life is to get your butt where your face is. To move in alignment with where God put you at that time in history. Well,convergence is people that are walking in alignment with the call the role and the assignment God gave them. It’s a beautiful place where your gifts talents and abilities match your role and God says, step in. Then you’re in it. Only 20% of people get there and that’s because this next stage gets to be a problem.

Break: You know what’s happening with Putin and Ukraine is actually having an effect not directly on our energy, the way Biden says. But it is having an effect on food. Because so much of the wheat that comes into Europe and into the Middle East and in the United States comes out of Ukraine. And so much of the fertilizer that we need comes from that region as well. And so farmers aren’t going to be using fertilizer. And that means that the crops aren’t going to be there. And that’s when Joe Biden says that there really is going to be some food shortage. I mean that’ll make you worry because these guys very seldom tell you the truth. So what we’re doing right now is really doubling down and making sure that we have an adequate supply of food for our family. Lance: It’s spiritual formation as gift discovery development, sovereign beginnings but then we have life maturing. Life maturing is a bummer because just about the time when you’re sitting here saying, I’m called to do this. I’m called to do that. God, I’m available. I’m fasting. I’m praying. I’m seeking. God says, well, you might have a marriage problem. That’s called life maturing. You might have, if you’re old enough, you might have rebellious kids. They’re a big problem. Life maturing. You might be unemployed, the church doesn’t hire you to be the next great evangelist. That’s called life maturing. This season right here could be taking care of parents that are aging. It could be being in a job that you hate.

There’s a lot of factors that go into this stage right here always before convergence. Convergence is where you want to go. This is the place where 88% of people drop out, because they aren’t prepared to face the contradiction on the way to convergence. Contradiction is the church split for the pastor. It’s the accusation and here’s the amazing thing. Look at Joseph. Before Joseph and it’s in the Bible. I mean it’s right in front of us if we actually believe the Bible that before your promotions you have the biggest contradictions. Your biggest attacks and slander happened before God puts you in the position of your biggest promotion.

So if Joseph is called to be the deliverer of his family, the poor guy is going to get put into a pit. God‘s calling on Joseph, the favor of God is on him his own father gives him a special coat that looks like he’s a winner. Then he ends up going into a pit. Why? Because his brothers are going to sow him into slavery. He goes in as a slave in the Egypt. He’s going to be sold down the slavery in Egypt, but he comes out of the fields of slavery into being put in charge of all the other slaves he’s promoted. So, he’s basically been given a position of exalted honor and status overseeing all the other slaves in the field and he’s working Potiphar. Potiphar is now the man in charge of all these industrial agricultural assignments and Joseph comes out of being a slave in a pit to being in charge of all the other slaves. But he gets falsely accused of trying to hit on the boss’s wife and so boom, he ends up going into prison on false accusation.

Well, right there, a whole bunch of Christians I know would be so outraged, so bitter, so in desperate need of a counseling appointment that they’re quitting everything. No more tithing. No more church. No more praying. I just hate Christianity. Why? Because you’re experiencing the pit before the promotion. God takes a chance on people. He puts them into this process to prepare them for convergence. You got the dreamer has a dream. Everybody’s bowing down to him. The dream puts him into a pit but the pit puts him in charge of a whole bunch of other people that are living in Egypt. While he’s there, he gets accused, falsely ends of going to prison. While he’s in prison, he ends up interpreting the dream of the butler and the baker and as a result of that, one of them gets out.

Let’s see the butler actually I believe it was gets out and the butler gets back positioned right at the right hand of pharaoh. And what does Joseph say to him? Say, look man God put me here in this contradiction but you see that I’m a man of God I’m a Jew I didn’t do anything I’m wrong I’m like my family just really screwed my destiny here and I got to get home. So, remember me when you come into your promotion use your leverage to get me out of here. He’s forgotten for two years, boom. For 2 years, he’s got to walk around thinking, what am I doing? My family hates me, they sell me out. I work for a boss who hates me and ends up putting me in prison. I help a friend of mine get delivered. He won’t even remember me. Do you think he had opportunities to talk himself out of his destiny? Why didn’t he do that? Because he kept on focusing on the presence of God that was with him.

The Bible says that God was with him. So, here’s what you got to learn to do. Sometimes, you don’t get the explanation as to why something’s happening until the next Chapter. Then when that chapter unfolds, you can look back and see why that happened, but you can’t get the why answered while you’re going through it. So here he is now. He’s got that he’s forgotten about for two years but oh Pharaoh has a dream and he says, man I need someone to interpret it and thecupbearer goes. Well, you know I’m feeling kind of convicted right now because I know a guy two years ago that kind of interpreted the dream for me told me everything man told he even told me about that other guy, the baker. Remember the guy you killed, he told him you’re done. So, I think he might be, I’ll see if he’s still around, get him, get him.

Next thing you know Joseph comes in. He gets a big dream interpretation and now we find out that God was actually forming the crown of life on him. And it’s only when you get to convergence, you can look back on the entire journey and see how God even work through your screw ups to get you where you got to go. That’s how cool God is. He can make the biggest bozo decisions and sins you ever committed and weave it into the tapestry of, well, did you learn something from that? Oh yeah, I learned something. Okay. That’s good because that message right there is going to help a lot of people. You’re willing to give it, right. Oh, you bet I’m willing to, okay, good. I’m going to weave that in. Now, you got that all that.

Listen, if you like really screwed up life bad, you’re really coming out of like a criminal background? You got a great testimony. The secret is, just don’t screw up again. Does make sense so far? Alright, so convergence is life maturing, gives you some contradictions. Contradictions sometimes are delays. Why can’t I find that right guy? Why can’t I find that right girl? How come I can’t find? But whatever the delay is, God‘s purifying your motives. Whatever the delay is. You say, well God, I just want to just want to do that. Well guys, well, if you really mean that, then you can wait until perfect timing. Does that make sense to you so far?

Alright, so this assumes you’re some other things but this convergence, I’m going to put the word converge here and then this final phase is called, Legacy. Legacy is what happens when you hit around. Here’s the interesting thing. Convergence for those of you that are older will encourage you. Convergence in the west happens around 50 years old and after. Now, you can get in there younger if you want but you have to realize, you might be in one of these sub chapters, so don’t be too upset if while you’re on top of the world over here, things contradict. Remember my teaching today because it could be you were happy with this kind of destiny and God had a much bigger crown for you.

We’re all together on this? That’s why I’m big on models. I just gave you 2 models. Models is the fast track to wisdom. Models is the fast track to wisdom, because once you get the Bible, you get the principles, you get the concepts. Then, you have to figure out which model applies to my moment so that I can master the moment with the wisdom of God by finding the model that fits it. This is the model that fits life processes. This is the model that fits life processes and destiny, that elusive place. You got so many lovely colors here. Let me go with another one. Red. So, you want to go through this.
