Hershey’s chocolate candy company caused quite a stir after rolling out their new ad campaign on International Women’s Day featuring a transexual “woman”.
The infamous candy company features Fae Johnstone, a transgender activist along with four biological women in their new campaign ad. Hershey’s also debuted a new marketing angle, rebranding some labels to read: “HER
for SHE”.
The brazen “woke” cultural statement has been met with fierce backlash from Christian and conservative commentators.
“The American people are sick and tired of having woke lectures shoved down their throats,” tweeted Rogan O’Handley, most known for his alias “DC Draino”.
Fae Johnstone, on the other hand, is more determined than ever after his 15 minutes of fame… “The reaction to my inclusion as a trans woman in Hershey’s Canada International Women’s Day campaign shows just how far we still have to go in the fight for feminist liberation and trans rights,” Johnstone wrote on Twitter. “I’m not going anywhere. I’m not shutting up. I will always stand up for women and girls, cis, and trans.”
Hershey’scandy company also defended their stance on Instagram writing, “We value togetherness and recognize the strength created by diversity. Over the past three years, our Women’s History Month programming has been an inclusive celebration of women and their impact. We appreciate the countless people and meaningful partnerships behind these efforts.”
The Daily Wire has responded in typical fashion, launching a chocolate brand of their own and asking readers to “stop giving money to people who hate you.”
