WATCH: Senator Tim Scott Delivers GOP Response to Biden’s Address

U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) delivered an impassioned response to President Joe Biden’s first address to Congress last night which has allies applauding and critics on the attack.

One line that seemed to act as a dagger through the heart of critical race theory came when he said,”Hear me clearly: America is not a racist country.”

The official Republican rebuttal sent progressives into a frenzy with so many using the hashtag “Uncle Tim” (a play on the racist epithet Uncle Tom) that it was trending on Twitter. On Thursday morning, Twitter stepped in to block the hashtag from its “trending” section. Scott faced similar attacks after speaking at the 2020 Republican National Convention.

The Senator from South Carolina argued that President Biden has failed to hold true to his promise to unite America, opting for a radical and divisive political agenda saying, “A President who promised to bring us together should not push an agenda that tears us apart.”

He continued: “A hundred years ago, kids were taught the color of their skin was their most important characteristic. And if they looked a certain way, they were inferior. Today, kids are being taught that the color of their skin defines them again. If they look a certain way, they’re an oppressor. People are making money and gaining power by pretending we haven’t made any progress.”

“It’s backwards to fight discrimination with different kinds of discrimination. And it’s wrong to try to use our painful past to try to shut down debates in the present,” Scott declared.

“Our best future will not come from Washington dreams or socialist schemes. It will come from YOU—the American people,” he proclaimed before closing his speech with a prayer.

The response was widely acclaimed by Republicans like House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy who wrote, “Senator Tim Scott just hit it out of the park!”

Former Vice President Mike Pence also sung Scott’s praises writing, “Congratulations and Thank You to @SenatorTimScott  for a strong, honest, and truly inspiring GOP Response last night! He took the case for our Conservative philosophy straight to the American people and did an Outstanding Job!”

To me, the reason for the Left’s hatred of Scott is obvious: he is a living contradiction to everything they claim to be true about America and everything they claim to be false about her. As a second-term United States Senator, he proves the deck is not stacked against minorities and his example serves as a reminder that America remains the land of opportunity.
