Unmasking The Spirit That Is Attacking You

Welcome, welcome ladies and gentlemen. Let’s talk about this. I want to talk about the spirit that is right now being loosed upon the earth and you got to know this in time devil, you got to understand how to work with the spirit of strife and how to discern it, how to bind it because this is what’s been loosed upon America. Let’s face it. I made the comment the other day. I wasn’t trying to be a vulgar. Surely, I’m on Christian television, not trying to be needlessly provocative, but I said pop culture. Popular culture. Pop culture is primarily a culture driven by people that are never happy. You’re never doing enough to save the planet. You’re never doing enough in environmentally. You’re never doing enough for race reparations. You’re never doing enough for LGBTQ rights. And that’s the ubiquitous environment that we’re navigating in. Which is why we got to be careful what you say and when you say it and how you say it and him and her and he and she.

You got to be careful about your pronouns, your adjectives. And political correctness is basically a communist term by the way that came from Chairman Mao. I’m kind of wearing a Mau fashion. I was worried about what I was wearing today because it looks almost like a Mao out but it’s look like a little bit like the Mao style. So, it’s a cross between Mao and I don’t know GQ or something, but political correctness is a term that comes from the communist party. Meaning, you got to say what the party was. We’re getting, we’re coming out of this communist spirit unless we break it and we break it by discerning it and pushing back on it which is why I want to talk about strife is how Satan is taking America apart. Strife is how Satan is trying to take America apart.

So, I want you to go to a verse. There’s a verse in the Bible. James 3:6. If you get strife, it comes in to your life or into your church. You’re going to have to cast it out. You’re going to have to discern it and deal with it because that strife can actually open the door to every other evil work. “Where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there”. Catch it. We’re envying and self-seeking exist or selfish ambition. All politics is selfish ambition. Do you know why you’re turned off by Trump saying negative things about Ron DeSantis, because you’re a Christian. You and I don’t like politics as a rule. We only got involved for our survival. But the reality is we like Ron DeSantis. We don’t, we intentionally don’t talk bad about each other and we don’t talk even bad about our enemies and we certainly don’t talk bad about our heroes and friends. In politics, it’s designed. So, it’s not the kingdom of God we have to bring the kingdom into these governments. It’s competition.

I don’t care, this is why America’s got a problem the Communist Party I was thinking about this. The Communist Party you know is unified it maybe by fear it maybe by evil. It’s like the mafia, they’re unified and because they’re unified, they are moving 100% in agreement Democrats are unified 100% in agreement and Republicans not unified. The very nature of the conservative type thing is that people are independent and so they don’t move together. That makes it less unity. That’s a problem. But if you’re up against, if you’re a house divided as we are. Democrats against Republican. And the moment that Biden goes into office he undoes everything Trump did. Even if it was good. Like we had the title 42 thing, right? So, Trump put something in to block people from being able to come in because of COVID. Well, all that Biden has to do is to say we’re going to extend it and continue to use that blocking of people coming in until time as we resolve the problem with our border. But no, he takes it down. Why? We undo energy policy. Energy policy made us made us strong. We had full spectrum energy dominance and an economy without inflation. What is it as soon as the other party comes in? Don’t even make it about Biden.

Soon as the other party comes in. They want a selfish ambition. Undo everything Trump did. Trump could have put a you know a border up or an edict in that prohibited from coming in. Biden will tear it down. Trump says full spectrum energy independence. He did that. Take it apart. Do the opposite. He had Abraham peace accords. Tear it up. Let’s go to Iran and do a deal. In other words, its selfish ambition produces confusion because strife comes. What I want you to catch is that everywhere self-seeking exists, there’s confusion. Confusion can get into your church. Confusion can get into your company. Confusion can get into a family. “The tongue is a fire, a world iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members and it defiles the whole body. It sets on fire the course of nature and it is set on fire by hell”. Nothing can be truer than the fact that the Bible calls the antichrist the little horn that speaks great swelling words.

The antichrist will be ultimately the embodiment of what you see working in American politics right now. A voice that a tongue that sets people’s emotions on fire, and if you think that’s a problem now at 1 AM in the morning here at Daystar crowd, listen to me. Whittle artificial intelligence gets a hold of this. Because you see what AI does is AI could do an analysis of what words mean are the most incendiary and likely to ignite a problem and it will structure the words of the Latinos and the Caucasians and the heterosexuals, the homosexuals, and the black community. It’ll just let light fires all over the place and what’s sad to say. It’s going to upgrade the sophistication with which human beings can divide each other for power. Because if I can divide you, I can weaken you and I can take you over. A house divided can be taken over. A country divided can be taken over.

Therefore, what’s the pull up Lance? What’s the optimistic message here at 1 AM? The optimistic message is the kingdom of God is the counter force that is coming against the spirit of strife. We must learn how not to yield to the strife, tempting though it is and move in the dynamic of the kingdom of God. Boldly speaking the truth and calling out the strife hypocrisy because there is another force in the earth and it’s the force of God’s kingdom, God’s truth, and when God’s truth goes out, it is also persuasive. It’s going to be the hour of the clashing of swords, principalities and angels colliding in the heavenlies and tongues on earth colliding in the earth. Remember I said that because it’s going to increase. The tongue set on fire by hell and the tongues of Pentecost set on fire by God. The tongues of fires that the tongues set on fire by hell are about to meet the voice of the Lord. We’re going to be filled with God’s spirit. We’re going to be filled with God’s word. We’re going to be filled with God so annoying. We got the Holy Ghost has got to be talking through us. Ambassadors of the kingdom as though God was speaking through us. That’s where we’ve got to go.

Now, let me go back in my analysis here to how the spirit of strife operates. I’ll tell you a little story. I told the other night but I don’t think anybody heard it, so just had a little text suppression there on my media channels and it ended with a period of time. You won’t believe this but once I pastored, I pastored in an earlier life. I love pastoring actually. I’m a shepherd by nature. I love people. I’m more of a rabbi, a teacher, rabbis teach. It’s my bloodline. It’s funny. Both of my brothers are professors. My brothers one is a professor of fine arts and in English and runs a theater. The other one is a professor at Carnegie Melon I guess and does artificial intelligence for computer programming. So, all of us are professors and we’re all not surprisingly like 20% Ashkenazi Jewish on our bloodline from our father’s side, which has rabbis and teachers in it. So, we come by teaching kind of naturally.

And one of the things that I’ve observed is that the job of the teacher that Jesus when he comes out of the tomb Mary says, Rabonai. She refers him as rabbi is a very endearing term and actually kind of I guess I had to be called anything. I think rabbi is better than prophet rabbi teacher evangelist although when the left wing wants to nail me, what they’ll do is they’ll call me Darlows of evangelist even though that’s the one thing I’m probably not. But anyway, the point that I’m making is that the teaching gift is the gift that God gives in order to impart truth. It’s a powerful gift because it unlocks the potential for faith to be released when you have teaching on the word. I want to How strife operates so you could see it as a spirit. So, where it starts is strife causes division between people and sometimes the division is simply just a difference of innocent design. I could show you and we will look at it.

The strife can come between people that are actually friends. Come between couples because of design and when I say strife can come because of design, I’ll swing over this camera. How’s this camera? The strife can come because of design, here we go and you like my keyboard here? I should do a song tonight. Maybe we’ll finish on a song because melodies can sometimes release the spirit of peace and grace. Couples can have arguments yet it’s not because they’re one of them has a spirit of strife or selfish ambition this is shows how insidious the spirit of strife is. It can simply be because of the differences in personality or temperament. A wife for instance, maybe more like interested in connection. Her needs are going to be for more of a connection. The husband could be more like task focused. Her need for connection isn’t being met and he may be feeling the frustration of not getting stuff done, but you see that can create a natural kind of a problem.

I’ll point out to you in a moment how the apostle Paul and Barnabas both righteous men put together by God as a divine team, combined by God just like a couple, there’s this man team ministry. God put them together because Barnabas is called the son of encouragement. Obviously, he’s an extroverted community-oriented guy. Everyone called the son of encouragement that tells you that he’s an exhorting kind of cheerleader and he goes and finds Paul and puts his around him and introduces him to the brethren. He’s a relationship guy. On the other hand, the apostle Paul, the rabbi Paul, who was out threatening slaughter and destruction on the early church gets converted and he becomes the bold, he’s a terrorist for Jesus. Now, he’s attacking the devil everywhere he goes. He is an aggressive and he’ll debate. He’ll argue. He’ll make his point.

So, here you have like a detail-oriented task focus driven aggressive force with the encourager force, the encourager, cheerful, Barnabas’s son of encouragement and the task focused courageous beat me up, I’m coming back at you, combative apostle Paul. The two of them made a perfect team and God put them together and the devil broke them apart. Well, which one was full of selfish ambition? Neither of them. This is the insidious thing about strife. Wherever there’s selfish ambition it automatically rules, but it even can break up relationships God put together. Do I have your attention yet?

Alright, let’s take a look at what happens here. I want you to go find this. We start with Acts chapter 13. We’re only got 15 minutes here and we’re going to go. By the way, if you want to know where that spirit of strife is, I’m going to tell you right now. It’s called Leviathan. There’s a demon that is breaking up your marriages, putting division between you and your family, your children and you got to break up your church, break up your business for sure. All the lawsuits, lawyers basically are employed by Leviathan and the spirit twist words. He even says in Psalm 56 verse 5, “All day long do they twist by words”.

So, this spirit is tearing up the body of Christ. It works through media. It works through tattle tales and gossip. It works through. Did you hear what she said? It works through people hearing what you said and reading into what you said and hearing something you never meant. That’s why the companion of that is breaking controlling spirit. You have to have an anointing. You have to have a prayer life that keeps your spirit strong enough to be able to discern and deal with Leviathan. It’s like a creature of the Nile. Referred to in Isaiah is like a crocodile, a creature of the Nile. The spirit occasionally shows itself as strife and the moment you see it, boom, it goes underwater. It’s like What’s going on here? What’s going on? It pops up again and it goes there. You ever had that experience where you’re sensing something? It’s there but you can’t find it. This power twins is what you got to get. “In the church at Antioch chapter 13 in the book of Acts, there was certain prophets and teachers, Barnabas and Simeon who was called Nigel Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen, who had been brought up with Herod, the Tetratch and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord and fasted”. I like this idea they ministered to the Lord. Do we do that? I think it’s an interesting concept. Ministering to the Lord. There’re times when we really just need to blot out every ungrateful, murmuring, strifeful spirit that’s being heard by heaven and just ascend with a song into heaven. Ministering to the Lord. It had to be worship. They had to be worshiping, ministering to the Lord. You’re not going to teach him anything. You’re not giving him a Bible study. You had to be worshiping him. Praying and worshiping. And as they did that, the Holy Spirit spoke. If you want to hear God speak, stop seeking God’s voice and start worshiping God himself and God will start talking to you. The Lord said, “now”, I love that word now. “Separate to me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I’ve called them”. You talk about potent revelation packed in a single sentence.

“Now” meaning, up until this moment, there wasn’t a now moment with God’s calling. These guys were doing, what were they doing? Now, in the church at Antioch, there were certain prophets and teachers. These guys, Barnabas and Saul are called to be apostles but they weren’t separated to the office and function of an apostle. They were operating in the very high and holy calling of rabbis and prophets, teaching prophets or prophets that taught prophetic rabbis but not yet apostolic and while they were worshiping God and ministering to the Lord, the Holy Spirit spoke and said, now, it’s time. Separate. Set apart. The word for separate is the same word we get for sanctify. Set apart from me. Those two and notice the sequence, it’s Barnabas and Saul.

Now, in another chapter, once they’re separated, the roles are going to reverse. It’s going to be Paul and Barnabas. Paul’s going to get a name change and a rank change. He’s going to be moved up in the office and then positioned as the number one guy. His name’s going to come first. He’s going to be the first guy. Now, watch what happens. So, separate them for the work which I’ve called them. Very important point, moe importante. What were they doing up until then? They were doing the work they were called to do. See, you’re doing the work you’re called to do. I don’t give you real estate chiropractor, you’re working with television ministry, you’re working in a church, whatever it is, your housewife, daycare, doing a little MLM on the side, social media.

Your work can be what God wants you doing and still it’s not the work. “The work” is the assignment God has for you that we call the convergence. The moment when you step into the assignment that God was creating you for, grooming you for and all the time that you’re doing the work you’re doing is preparing you for the work God called you to do. They laid hands on him, fasted. This is pretty powered worshiping God, prophecy flowing, separate me, Barnabas and Saul, fasting more, laying hands on something about the fasting, laying hands with. There is such potent stuff in three verses right there in Acts. And they sent them away. They sent them. They go. They were sent out. That’s the Apostolos. That’s the go, the commission.

Now, being sent forth by the Holy Spirit is the key. Verse 4. “They went down to Seleucia. There they sailed to Cyprus when they ride the Salamis. They preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews, and they had John as their assistant”. Not John the apostle but John Mark. We’re going to find Barnabas’ nephew. This will be his sister’s kid. Little John Mark travelling with them. “And now when they had gone through the islands of Paphos they found a certain sorcerer a false prophet a Jew’s name was Bar-Jesus”. How about this? A false prophet a sorcerer, this is a guy loaded with demons, a cult demons, whose name who was with the pro council. He was a political consultant. How much of America’s problems are because we’ve got political consultants who are filled with the devil? There I said it. How much of America’s strife is because high-level political advisers are demon possessed?

“And so, he was with the pro council this sorcerer false prophet, Sergius Paulus”. And Sergius Paulus was not stupid. He was an intelligent man. An intelligent man. “And this man called for Barnabas and Saul who sought to hear the Word of God. But Elymas the sorcerer for so his name is translated withstood them. Seeking to the pro council away from the faith”. What does it tell you? That when there’s a force that is trying to contradict the Word of God, the preaching of the gospel, the function of the church, the freedom of speech, the proclamation of scripture, the force that is anti-Christ in politics that is trying to block in silence in Canada or the United States, the voice of the prophet or the voice of the preacher that is a sorcerer’s spirit, that’s witchcraft operating, it’s a spirit out to contradict the Holy Spirit and bring confusion to the intelligent people. No wonder strife, strife I just read you in James produces confusion.

Then Saul who is called Paul. Saw that this spirit was trying to rob this man’s salvation. Trying to turn him against the faith. Blaspheming. Yes Jesus. Yeah, I heard about him. There’s no proof anything about him. Saul who’s called Paul filled with here’s the key. Filled with the Holy Spirit. He looked intently at him. Let me tell you about Paul. Paul was blind. He had caked plastic over his eyes. God just smelled him blind with his glory, revealed himself to him, sealed his eyes, burned his retinas with the revelation of the glory of God. Saul boom on his back, blinded. Has a vision of Ananias men coming and laying hands on him the same brother Saul the Lord Jesus who met you on the road of Damascus has set me that you might receive your sight and he prays for him and Saul’s eyes open and he’s healed.

Now, when that guy who had a religious spirit that was blinded by the glory is staring intently at you full of the Holy Ghost. Boy, what I love to have a photograph of what those eyes look like. You talk about lasers. He’s staring at this guy through eyes that were once blind by demons and now sees through the demons operating in this sorcerer political consultant. And instead of saying, let me turn the other cheek. Let me bless you. When were you hurt in your past that you’re so mean to me right now? Saul who was called Paul, name changed, name changed. Notice that? He went to the conversion sown a few verses earlier and now his name is changed. It’s now no longer Saul’s Paul. “Saul who’s called Paul filled with the Holy Spirit looked intently at him and said, these loving words of reconciliation. O, full of all deceit and all fraud. You son of the devil you enemy of all righteousness. Will you not stop perverting the straight ways of the Lord? And now indeed the hand of the Lord is upon you? And you should be blind not seeing the sun for a time. And immediately a dark mist fell on him”. The darkness interesting. “A dark mist fell upon”. And he went about seeking someone to lead him by the hand right away. Oh my gosh, I can’t see a thing or you leave me. Someone used to walk me. I can’t bump it into objects. Got to find my apartment. I got to get out of the building. “Then, the procouncil believed when he saw what had been done. Being astonished at the teaching of the Lord”.

Can you catch that? The teaching. There was no teaching so far. Paul wasn’t teaching. Paul was demonstrating. By the way, Paul wasn’t demonstrating the love of God bringing in divine healing. He wasn’t healing a blind person. He was causing a person that could see to be go blind and the pro council goes, dang. That’s a that’s some doctrine. That’s some teaching I never saw before. I never seen anything like this. The Bible says, he believed. Now I was planning on going a lot further in this message tonight that I got. It’s not my fault. You guys have to listen faster. I was trying to get somewhere. But what I want you to see is, Paul and his party sent sail from there and they go into synagogues and they go in and they’re getting all kinds of resistance. And they’re starting to see the riots are starting and but the breakthroughs are coming. And The apostle Paul says, God’s doing a work in your day which is a work in your day which you wouldn’t believe if I was to tell you exactly how big this is. But I’m telling you something right now in the end times, in the last days, God’s doing a work that’s bigger than anybody ever believed. Bigger than anyone believe. You wouldn’t believe it if someone declared it to you and then he goes on.

Now, you would think that right now, in my remaining 3 minutes and 59 seconds. You would think that the anointing and the presence and the truth and the move of God would have caused alignment but it produced strife. Understand something. Strife actually can be produced by envy, jealousy, and ambition because look what happens. When Paul is speaking and persuading them, verse 44 says, “Almost the whole city came out to hear the word of God and when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy. They opposed the things spoken by Paul just like Elymas, the source of Earth”. Religious witchcraft, they opposed the message because of selfish ambition and as a result, there’s like a stress. This is the beginning of the riots that will start to happen. In verse 14, in chapter 14 verses 1 through four, you’re going to see Iconium breaking out in riots as the Jewish jealous preachers come against the awakening and Paul and Barnabas.

Now, you think that Paul and Barnabas would have stuck together after seeing how God was working through them. But sorry to say, Chapter 15, they don’t make it till chapter 15, they break up. And why do they break up? Because John Mark, who I mentioned you a moment ago, quit on them. Somewhere in here, we don’t know where. John Mark said, this is too much. Oh my gosh. This is more than I expect. This is scary. This is weird. I got to go home. I got to go home and Paul goes, this doesn’t help, Barnabas. We don’t have anyone working with us on our team. So, it was inconvenience for Paul.

So, when they were about to go out and do their trip again, Barnabas said, I talked to John Mark and he’s learned a few things he’s grown, he’s going to be fine. Paul said, if he goes, I’m not going. The last thing, in other words Paul’s task focus getting the job done right for Jesus. collided with Barnabas, relationship focus. He’s my nephew, man, I’ll take care of him don’t worry about it, he’s going to be fine. Paul says, if he goes, I’m staying. Well, the Bible said the contention became very sharp so sharp that they split up. The team God put together fell apart because of strife.

Folks, strife is an insidious force. When you discern it, right away, recognize it as a spirit and you know what I say to do? Worship. Worship. I’m going to end the broadcast with worship because I really believe this is the best way to go and you guys could just worship with me till it’s over. Because the Lord is beautiful and if we minister to him, he’ll separate us to his purpose. Lord, I pray that all strife will be broken off of the households of those that are with me now watching this. Strife leave and peace come. O’ Lord you’re beautiful. Your face is all that I see.
