The Believers Edge: Unlocking Last Days Secrets of the Double Portion

Lance: I got a special message for you and it’s wild, man. I can’t believe the Lord‘s given me permission to teach it but I’m reading here in Hebrews where it says that there’s a heavenly Jerusalem with an innumerable company of angels and the general assembly and church of the firstborn written in heaven. There’s actually a church of the firstborn and I’m looking at that and saying, wait a second, the firstborn church. That goes right here with Hebrews chapter 12 where it says, “Don’t be like Esau and sell your birthright”. Because the birthright is what’s given you when you’re the first born and the writer is saying to the New Testament believer, you could sell it. Don’t sell it. Don’t lose it. Did you know you got something you can lose? Not your salvation but there is something you can lose. 

The Bible says, “The whole fast your crown must another take it”. I’m going to suggest to you that right now this teaching is going to be the most important teaching you’ve heard in a long time because the church the first born has the birthright. The birthright gives you what? Access to the double portion. You see, God‘s about pour out his spirit upon all flesh. The church the first born that retain their birthright and protect themselves are going to be available for a double portion, the double portion outpouring of God saying we’re going to pour out my spirit in all flesh. I’m going to pour out the former reign and the latter reign in the same time in the first month. And what you’re going to find out is that the church of the firstborn, I believe is alive on the earth and that the enemy wants to steal your birth right but if you hold onto it, you’re going to see five powerful dimensions of blessing break out in your life.

You’re going to discover the ministry of priesthood to connect yourself to God with intimacy. The ministry of the kingship to have authority in realms that you have not seen before. The prophetic spirit to know things before they happen. The manifestation of double portion results double portion revelation and you’re going to ultimately bruise the serpent’s head. There’s deliverance that’s going to come to the church and many people are going to see devils cast out and there’s an anointing for that. The double portion is going to be released to the end time people of God. The church the first born. This is a powerful teaching. You don’t want to miss it. Let’s get right into it together. Let’s go.

I come all my friends for the late night. Daystar is on Late Night and when I do this special program, it’s like 1 AM in the morning. It’s an experiment that I’m doing actually with all of you. I love to be up late. It’s kind of a habit I’ve got because I think the evening watch so to speak is the quiet time. It’s like less spirits are active, less technology, less interruptions and it’s like a time you can be still and hear the Lord speak or it’s a time you could fall asleep also. So, the your up. Let’s talk about what Jesus is saying today because I believe you’re up for a reason. I’m talking in this series about the heavenly rewards and I’m focusing on things that have to do with the Believer’s Edge in this period. In other words, I think there’s certain things that give you an edge and one of those things that gives you an edge is to live your life full of the spirit, live your life with focus and activity because you see the power of the age to come and you expect the reward. Jesus says in Last chapter of the book of Revelation. “Behold, I’m coming quickly. My rewards are with me to give to each of you according to what you’ve done”.

So, evidently what you’re doing, you really want to make sure that what you’re doing is going to have eternal fruit. Nothing worse than finding out as we found out reading Corinthians last week that at the judgment seat, the eyes of Jesus are going to win a through your whole life is going to be there testing and seeing is going to intimately know you and know where you’ve been and what you’ve done. And in that moment what survives the test of the fire of the eyes of fire which survives the test is gold, silver, precious stones, and the reward is with him. The reward is going to be as we talk about various levels of glory that are in the next stage.

For those of you that are at home right now, I’m going to assume that I don’t have to repeat everything I taught last week, but go watch it if you missed it or go on Lance Wallnau Facebook.I think I have it there I’ll be playing it. First Corinthians 15:41. Just want to let you know I’m not making up doctrine while I’m teaching to you. First Corinthians 15:41. Is there rewards brother Lance? Yes, there is and I’m saying the rewards are even going to be revealed in the degree of glory that is emanating from you and your resurrection body. Everybody’s got resurrection bodies, but there’ll be some that are going to differ from others. There’re 30-watt bulbs, 60-watt bulbs, and a hundred-watt bulbs in my house. I want to be 100-watt bulb, don’t you?

Alright, chapter 15. Look what it says here. It’s all about the resurrection and going in here. Oh, Ilike this. So, the God gives this, he’s talking about resurrection bodies here but Paul’s talking about. Verse 88, “God gives it a body as he pleases to every seed its own body. All flesh is not the same flesh. There’s one kind of flesh for man is called skin. One kind of flesh for animals called fur. Another kind for fish called scales. Another kind for birds called feathers”. Hope you got that revelation. “There’re also celestial bodies”. Now, he’s getting out there. He said, “Look, angels have their own substance they’re made of in that dimension and terrestrial bodies. The glory of the celestial is one kind of glory, the glory of the terrestrial is the other”. Oh, he’s out there in some curious revelation.

Now, watch about how glorified bodies are going to look. “There’s one glory of the sun and other glory of the moon and of the glory of the stars. For one star differ from another star in degrees of glory. So, also the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption but is raised in incorruption. Just like there’s a natural body, there’s a spiritual body and just like stars differing glory, there’ll be differing glories in the resurrection”. Well, brother Lance, I never saw that before. Well, these things are in there. This isn’t going to be your typical Sunday sermon and I wouldn’t preach this to my people. People there don’t even appreciate us casting pearls before swine if they’re coming in there with their arms crossed wondering, well, is this church all about money? I don’t want to teach them these royal dainties but I’m teaching them to you. They star audience late at night at one o’clock morning. You must be hungry for Jesus to be in this Bible study.

So, I want you to know that there’s different degrees of glory. Now, I want to talk about the great end time glory company. There’s a company in the last days that is a special oh the last shall be first and the first should be last. You’re all jealous. I wish I’ve been around in Jesus’ day. Well, those are the first, but get the ones that are coming in last are actually the ones that might be the first partakers of the glory of the age to come. Take a look at chapter 12 of Hebrews, writing to the Jewish believers. We don’t know who the author is here. Some people say it’s Paul. Some people think it’s Apollos. Doesn’t really matter. The Holy Ghost wrote it. Says right here, verse 15 “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness spring up and trouble you and thereby many be defiled”. Boy, that’s the truth. “Unless there be any fornicator, a profane person as Esau who for one morsel of meat sold as birthright”.

The writer is writing to New Testament Christians and warning them, don’t sell your birthright.Most you don’t even know what a birthright is. Let alone, you could be selling it. You could be negotiating with the devil by compromise and forfeiting something God gave you that you give up. It’s called the birthright. It’s not your salvation, but it’s connected to rewards. I’ll show you that works in a second. We’re talking in this series about the Believer’s Edge. Everything I’m talking about here has to do with what you need to know in order to live life in the realm where you can have the greatest impact. Alright. So, the writer says, “Be careful that you don’t be like Esau”. Who is Esau? Well, to find out about him, he sold his birthright. “For you know that afterwards when he would have inherited the blessing”. Oh, circle these words please. Mark up your Bible. It’s not mark up your Bible. I’m commanding you to mark your Bible. Look at that. This Bible’s all marked up. I love marking. This is just one. I got Bibles all over the place marked up. And I circled “sold his birthright”. And then I circled “the blessing”. Because what happens is your birthright is yourproof of entitlement to the blessing and what’s the blessing? You’re going to find that in a minute. It’s the double portion anointing of God‘s spirit.

“For you know that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected, for he found a place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears”. In other words, once he lost it, he never got it back and the writer is warning you. He’s saying, I’m warning you New Testament Christians. Don’t be like Esau. Well, alright who Esau? Esau was when Jacob had his wife got pregnant, Rachel. She had, I’m sorry. Jacob and Rachel and Leah. And then there was Isaac and Rebecca. I’m straight now. Isaac. I got to get on my patriots and their wives. Sorry. All the Jewish lineage. Isaac and Rebecca. Isaac gets Rebecca pregnant. She is pregnant with twins. Esau and Jacob. Couldn’t be two more different kids in the same womb. Well, Esau comes out first and the first one out of the womb is the firstborn.

Very important you get this doctrine down because going to show you in Deuteronomy, the firstborn gets the double portion. But wait a second, hand pops out, Jacob grabs his brother by the heel and it’s like, oh here’s number two, he’s coming out wrestling with him. Jacob, well, the blessing of the firstborn, first guy out of the womb was Esau but the guy wrestling with him is Jacob. It’s weird how their very destiny was even in their anatomy when they weren’t even conscious. Well, Esau, evidently, he was real carnal. Now, he’s got Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He’s got the stories of the patriarchs. He’s got the legacy of faith. He’s got a family which is really and it’s so easy for children to be raised in a house of faith and despise a birthright. This happens all the time, but the Esau didn’t value it. It’s like take it or leave it. I don’t know if I believe what you believe.

Jacob on the other hand, he valued that birthright and so one day, Esau was out hunting and he didn’t find anything and so he was just hungry, famished, probably been forth fast going up in the wilderness working, young man burned up all his calories out there for two or three days, no food, just drinking water out of our creek, comes back, and there’s Jacob, oh with a whole meal. He’s about to eat it. Esau says, “I’m dying. Give it to me”. And Jacob said, “You want it? You have to pay for it”. “What do you want? I’m dying”. “That’s birthright. Just you know, tell me I got it. Just hand it over to me and you know, in the spirit, you don’t believe in that stuff anyway. Just tell me I got it”. “Alright, you’re going to have it. What good is it to me? If I die of hunger”.

Esau sold his birthright. Jacob by faith, grab it. I got it, and this is the reason why. You’ll see Jacob is going to go before his father Isaac and he’s going to deceive his father. And he goes before his father. It’s a big complicated story here but I mean it’s worth, every part of it has significance. Because Rebecca wants Jacob to get the blessing of the firstborn. There’s 5 dimensions to the firstborn blessing. That means there’s 5 rewards you could forfeit if you sell your birthright by bitterness, uncleanness, profanity, basically not valuing spiritual things. Jacob was not a likable guy. I mean he steals his brother’s birthright. My gosh. He steals his brother’s blessing. Deceives his father to get it. But the one thing God loved about Jacob he put a premium value on the anointing and the things of the spirit. He valued the things of the spirit.

So, God let that anointing in on him and wrestle in him. Till he had a new nature. Name change, you’re now Israel. He literally wrestled with God all night and then God said, I think I finally got your personality where I want it. You’re no longer Jacob. You’re no longer that crafty kid. You’re now Israel. You’re a prince and you’re going to have power to prevail with God and man. I’m activating your double portion anointing. I wonder if that’s an end-time story for the church. The nation of Israel named after that man and his wrestling with God.

Alright. So, it says here that, “He sold his birthright and after when he want to get the blessing, it was lost”. Oh, what’s the blessing? I want go to Deuteronomy chapter 21 verse 17. Deuteronomy, it’s your Old Testament now. Deuteronomy chapter 21 verse 17 and I’m going to head over the board maybe for a minute. Let’s see if I can you. Deuteronomy chapter 21. Oh good. I haven’t even marked this Bible up yet. I want you to go to oops, I already got there. I did mark this up. Talks about the double portion and how it’s tied to the firstborn.

Now let me make this real clear for you. Joel’s outpouring is coming on our day. I’m going to give you the latter reign of the former reign of the first month. Who do you think’s going to be able to fully receive everyone’s going to be in revival? All the rising tide raises all boats. Everybody’s going to be strengthened by the outpouring of God‘s spirit but some are going to be changed. Why Lance? Well, because some are going to be in a position to get the double portion. He’s giving a double portion outpouring but you know what? All you got is a little tea cup, you get a tea cup full. If you’ve got a big bathtub, you get a bathtub full. Double portion people have built the bathtub for the outpouring. The rest of them are little teacups. “If a man has two wives”, verse 15 chapter 21 of Deuteronomy, “and one is beloved and the others hate it”.

So, remember this, the you’re supposed to be a husband and one wife in the New Testament. In the Old Testament, they might have more than one wife. So, like Jacob, he has Rachel and Leah. He wasn’t crazy about Leah. He wanted Rachel, but Leah produced the first child. So, they were technically the first born and so this is written for that situation. Now, watch this. “If a man has two wives and one’s beloved, the others hated and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated”. So, both Rachel and Leah are going to produce children to Jacob but he really loves Rachel. He’s not so crazy about Leah. “But both produce children and if the firstborn son be the son of her that he didn’t like that much”. It doesn’t matter. That’s the first born of God.

“It shall be that when he makes his sons to inherit what he has, though he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated that he may not make”. He’s not allowed to say, I’d rather let the first born be for the woman I really wanted to marry, not you. You’re a problem. Can’t do that. God says, whichever baby comes out of that womb first is the firstborn. I don’t care if you are crazy about that woman or not. That’s the first born in my sight. Just telling you how the Bible works. So, “He shall acknowledge the son of the hated as the first born”. If that’s the first one that came out, I don’t care if he doesn’t like his wife. That’s the one. “By giving him a double portion of everything he has”.

Oh, there’s the double portion tied into the firstborn, brother Lance. Doctrine of the firstborn, the blessing, the birthright, Double portion. What’s a double portion brother Wallnau? “A double portion of all he has for he is the beginning of his strength and the right of a first born is with him”. A first born gets 2/3s of the inheritance. My father passed away. My dad said all three of you boys equal 1, 2, 3. Well, basically, if it had been Old Testament, my older brother would have got 2/3s and I would had one third split with me and my younger brother. Why was it that way? Because the firstborn has responsibility for mom and the rest of the family. Catch this. The doctrine of the first born is that the firstborn has the birthright unless they sell it. Then whoever has the birthright is the first born. And they get 2/3s of the inheritance.

Alright now watch how this goes. We’ve got our guy Jacob here and he goes before his father and his father’s going to release a prophetic blessing, I’m going to go over to my board. It’s only my camera crew. I’m heading over for a journey. We’re on an adventure. Here we go. Over here in the studio now and while we have a few minutes, only problem is I don’t have a clock over here guys. So, that will be a problem, but I’m going to go and I know I got a few minutes left here so I can go to work. But I want you to take a look at these characteristics. Do you guys, can you see the first one there? Oh, hard to see. Blue pen, I have to get rid of it.

These are the blessings that come to the firstborn. They end up with the ministry of the priesthood. So, we don’t have all the time in the world to develop this, but the first one that the Bible talks about that is going to be getting the double portion or the firstborn anointing is going to be Jacob gathers all his 12 sons around him and he’s releasing blessing to them. And as he’s releasing the blessing, the tribe of Levi is going to be promised the priesthood and later on, we’re going to find out that the priesthood gives to Levi, the firstborn status, the double portion blessing.

Alright, let’s go here. You got your Bible there, right? And take your Bible and go back to chapter 27 of Genesis.” And it came to pass in verse 1, that when Isaac was old and his eyes were dim, he could not see called Esau his eldest son and said to him, My Son. He said, here I am dad. He said, behold I’m about to die I pray thee get your weapons your quiver your bow go out in the field and get me some venison and make me some savory meat. The way I like to eat it and bring it back to me that my soul may bless thee”. So, we’re going to find something out that it’s the prophetic spirit is part of the inheritance of the devil poor for the firstborn. And Isaac is going to release the supernatural double portion blessing of the firstborn. He doesn’t know that Esau sold it and Esau isn’t telling him he sold it.

So, Rachel overhears it and she goes, I’m sorry Rebecca overhears it, she says to Jacob. She says,“Behold I heard your father say to Esau go get me venison and eat because I’m going to release the blessing. I’m feeling like I’m ready to leave earth. I got to release this anointing. Give you the blessing of the firstborn. Now my son, obey my voice, and I want to go right now and go to the flock, fetch two good kids of goats, and I’m going to cook dinner for your dad. I know exactly what he wants to eat”. And when he comes back in, you make believe you’re your brother Esau and let those hands get on you. Let him prophesy because he can’t see. His eyes are like cataracts right now and you’re going to get the blessing. It’s not going to be him.

Oh mom, Jewish mother was conspiring and so Jacob goes and deceives his dad and steals his brother’s blessing but did he really steal it? Did he really? Steal it? Esau sold it. Jacob valued it. It’s weird. Somehow God honored it and Jacob got the boom firstborn prophetic deposit and Esau comes in and Isaac goes, whoo. That’s something happened. Esau goes, don’t you have anything for me? He goes, I got a little something for you. I was going to give it to your brother. I’ll give it to you but definitely, Jacob got something.

And yeah, it was deception and God had to deal with him and wrestle with him and changes nature from someone who grapples and steals to somebody who could be patriarchally straight and God changes name and gave a new name. So anyway, we come back here. Here’s the blessing. I want you hear the blessing. Jacob comes up, kneels down. Isaac is going by his senses. It’s not going by the prophetic. It’s weird. He’s about to prophesy, but God he couldn’t desert who’s in front of him. He says, here’s the blessing. “Let God give thee of the dew of heaven and the fatness of the earth and plenty of corn and wine”. The dew of heaven is the anointing. Fatness of the earth is prosperity. Plenty of corn and wine is going to be revelation and abundance. “Let people serve thee”. You’re going to have rulership. “And nations bow down to thee”. You’re going to have geographic earthly authority. “Let thy mother’s sons bow down to thee”. You’re going to have authority within the church, within the family, within the tribes of Israel. “Cursed be everyone that curses you. Blessed today to bless you”.

You’ll have enemies but if you walk with God, the big boomerangs coming back at them. You just release blessing and uncursing because God‘s going to preserve you. “And it came to pass as soon as Isaac made an end of blessing Jacob and Jacob was yet scarce God barely walks out of the room from the presence of Isaac, Esau, his brother comes in”. And says, I’m here dad. Isaac says, who’s that? He goes, Esau, your son. He goes, what? “And Isaac trembled exceedingly. He said, oh. Who just did I release that blessing to? And Esau heard his words. He cried out with great bitterness. Oh my God. Bless me. Bless me father”. See the blessing of the firstborn. It’s as though I want you to catch this the double portion has these dimensions of the prosperity of rulership of the dew of heaven the anointing.

I’m going to break it down for you here it’s the ministry of priesthood. It’s the rule of kingship.It’s the prophetic spirit. It’s the double portion ministry that comes with that. It’s going to be the bruiser of the serpent’s head. We’re going to look at 5 different ways this thing manifest in the Bible in different firstborns. Well Esau, you got anything for me? Dad squeaks out a little blessing. He says, “Well yeah, I got something for you”. And he releases a blessing and he gives.It was not hardly the blessing that Jacob got. “Isaac’s father answered and said, behold, thy dwelling shall be of the fatness of the earth, the dew of heaven from above. And by thy sword shall thou live and thou shalt serve thy brother. And it shall come to pass when thou have the dominion that thou will break his yoke from off your neck”. In other words, sorry son but he’s going to have the upper hand for a while and then you’re going to get set free from it.

Well, if you know the story, Esau comes to kill Jacob and poor Jacob’s wrestling with Godbecause Esau’s going to kill him. But he sends his children, he sends his flocks, he sends his wives, and last, he sends himself and he’s Praying that Esau’s heart will melt. He says, this is all yours brother. I don’t want to fight with you and Esau is a change of heart and comes up and hugs him. God changes Esau’s heart. What an interesting story though.

Well, we’re out of time right now but I want to tell you something. The power of reconciliation is part of the first-born blessing that if you walk with God, the double portion will give you reconciliation for the relationships in your life that are torn and wounded family with children with spouses. There’s a powerful reconciliation. There’s so much in the rewards of the firstborn and I want you to contend to keep your birth right and don’t worry you say, well, I’ve done some wrong things Lance. Hey, listen repent value the birthright, because the firstborn generation is here and the double portion is coming. God bless you.
