Surprising Discovery on Why You Attract Certain People

Lance: But it’s a fascinating study on how we attract relationships. That’s what I’m going to talk about now, attracting relationships. But there’s a weird kind of dynamic in that we are attracted to certain relationships but those relationships statistically have an impact also on us. And what this guy does is he’s a researcher and he has all these dots on a map and he shows relational clusters and where the dots connect with each other and surprisingly what they all have in common. I mean one of the points he made which is reason why I want you to see this is that if you have two friends of yours that have obesity that there’s like a 40% greater likelihood that you are obese or will be also. Two close friends that are way overweight and the likelihood is that you also are or are becoming and it’s just a weird factor like that. I mean, I don’t know.

There’re fats transferable or what’s going on in the spirit realm I don’t know, but you watch it and you look at that. Now for years I was told that your income is the composite of like 5 friends of yours the 5 closest friends and people typically have 2 friends that are slightly higher and 2friends that are lower. And you take the average meaning income of all 5 of your closest friends and your income falls with 20%, 15% of what’s in the middle. I don’t know if that’s been verified by other sources but it makes you think how there is. Because I’m watching this polarity happening culture and it’s quite a phenomenon and it’s a heartbreaking and irritating phenomenonwhen you see that millennials feel like they’re being raised with political scandal. No, they’re not being raised with political scandal. They’re being raised with lying fake news.

It’s like if somebody’s accusing you of being an abusive boss or an abusive parent and your kids constantly hear negative things about you and then the devil gets into their head that you’re abusive and it’s not true. But then you have to live then they grow up with abusive parent. No, you grow up with an accusing demon. That’s what it was. So, but nevertheless, what you choose to believe becomes the reality you got to live with, right? So, that’s going to shake people. So, we’re in a very interesting period of time when the power of networks actually are in a spiritual way drawing people together into alignments and if they’re drawn in those alignments, it’s possible that you could be in an alignment with one group. And you saw it last night when Don was talking about the factors that are shaping in popular culture, the millennials and the next generation, the alpha generation. Did you see how increasingly technology, technology was only one item was in technology and that was gender transgender issues but you’re looking at this stuff and go, man, where is this going?

Well, I’ll tell you one place is going because of technology, you can actually even in a free information society, you can opt out of hearing from the things you need to hear and only be immersed in the information you choose to listen to. That means that people are navigating an alternate universes, because there’s no objective truth talking to both people at one time. It’s I’ve got news source. You’ve got your news source. I’ve got my commentator. You got your commentator. I’ve got my person. You got your person. I got my guru. You got your guru and that’s creating an even greater polarization and here we are as ambassadors of Christ having the challenge of knowing the truth. Not being indifferent to what’s happening in the destruction of culture. Caring about it deeply. Not having like I have some friends they just think they’re being spiritual. Well, I don’t even listen to that junk. I just stay away from I don’t even listen to the news anymore I think Paul.

Well, aren’t you a hero you don’t even know what the kitchen is poisoning other people with,you’re just cooking your own meals. If you really cared about what’s going on in your restaurant,you might want to get try to influence the way in which the kitchen is run. You might even start warning people, but warning labels what people eat. The point is this, you can’t to maintain your own personal peace and prosperity opt out of the battle of your generation. You should actually be strong enough to be able to see the error, feel the frustration over what’s happening. Keep your peace and move into the margin where influence can happen and persuade people powerfully out of alignment with those lies or those spirits. Does that make sense?

That’s why I showed you yesterday. The book of Acts is a far more contentious movement than people think. Everywhere Paul went, there was this uproar. There was this resistance there and what did I tell you? Envy. That the more favor is on the body of Christ. The more influence the body has. The more influence you have, the more provokes jealousy and envy in people that see what you’ve got and resent the fact that you have it and they don’t and so therefore, it’s inevitable. The more favor and success the church has, the more opposition it’s going to have and the persecution isn’t going to be driven because they don’t believe in God. It’s going to be driven by the leaders of the opposition who are jealous of the influence that you have. You got to get that clear in your head. Otherwise, you get needlessly examining yourself.

It was for envy. Pilate proceed that they Jewish delivered up Jesus to him. I showed you the book of Acts it was for envy when the Jews saw that the city was listening. They showed up and they contradicted and blasphemed what the apostles were saying. It’s envy. And okay, that’s the flip side of favor. Remember if you get more favor, you get more power in order to persuade influence and align the environment around you and you attract more opposition. So, to the degree that you increase in favor, you increasing what’s called the backlash and you have to have a kind of a buoyancy in the backlash. This is really important because we’ll cover this in layers of detail and I’ll give you data points on the PowerPoint. But the studies that I’m looking at now say that people, there’s this interesting study done where people were in a room where they had ever increasing loud noises. Buzzers that went off, distraction, and they had to answer questions that were like on a computer. And as they mistakes and the time clock went there was greater and greater stress and the noise got louder with the buzzer. People were in the room it’s kind of a simulated game and they measured the degree of residual stress and they could do that by looking at your cortisol levels and stress hormones and such.

They looked at the level of residual stress after the games were played or after the simulation was over and then they changed the game. Instead of having an inanimate object a computer or a mechanism, it was a Person and the person when you made a mistake was basically adjutant, an agitate or insulting or come on stupid. Do it again. Do it again. Damn, can’t you get this? Do it again. Try it and what happened was the residual toxic effect in terms of chemical and neurological measurements was twice as severe when it was a person doing it as opposed to when it was an inanimate object. In other words, it wasn’t the noise or the disruption or the stress of the mechanic or they experience. When you feel that it is somebody who is being insolent and angry and toxic towards you, it increases your vulnerability to feeling it and destroying it and to having it affect your own health and emotional state.

That’s like an index where all the stocks are and right now, the S&P is having its worst year since World War II. That’s right. We’re going back to World War II type stock level trauma. Lance: So, we’re in a place where we’re in a war mode but we ourselves have to have the buffer to be able to go in and out of those situations. Making sense? This is relationship but being wise as serpents and harmless as doves means you have to know what’s going on. I love what we heard last night about how to language, communicate, and connect with different generations, the millennial generation. What, it’s like an art form, right? And while I’m looking at that, I’m thinking, we have to, as I’m saying, we have to create our own micro-communities because the church its greatest weakness is that it’s bottled up and does not have a paradigm for engaging culture and culture’s getting lost. You guys know the illustration that I’ve done for years and if you don’t, you really need to understand it because what’s happening with America isn’t a reflection of who’s president. That’s not what’s happening in America. What’s happening in America is the church historically had so much influence over the culture that the institutions were all shaped by Judeo Christian values.

There was a Judeo-Christian family. There was a mom and a dad and the kids but as divorce hit the family and as it fragmented, we had the deterioration of the family as an institution that could be held up as a framer of values and worldview. It declined in credibility and strength, but there was education and we would at one point pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and maybe have a moment of prayer and there was a sense of what’s right and what’s wrong. Now, it’s completely it’s been transmogrified and what you’ve got is at lower and lower ages, kids are being taught about the gay married mom and dad and and transgender. People are coming in and discussing how they’re different and this is the curriculum being exposed to what’s happening is the entire education infrastructure no longer has a Judeo-Christian Foundation. You guys know this but I want to show you the visual of it.

So, what do Christians do? Well, they create their little Christian schools and home schools and then they cluster together and hang out with other believers and watch over their kids and they locate themselves in some kind of church, family network, or ministry enthusiasm they got. Meanwhile, you’ve got we’ll go to media. What happened in media? Media used to be, it always was, left leaning. But on the days of Walter Cronkite or David Brinkley, they made an effort to try to sound middle left leaning. They weren’t actually getting their talking points from the Democratic Party.

Now, the media and you see these montages every now and then. We’re in a constitutional crisis. Constitutional crisis. Meanwhile, there’s a constitutional crisis because media matters formed by David Brock puts out talking points to all the news directors who are working in collusion with the Democratic Party so that they can create a sustained narrative in order to the direction of the nation. Now, it’s one thing if you go to a movie, if you go to not media but I separate media from arts. Because if you go to a movie and you’re watching Hunger Games or Lord of the Rings or if you’re on HBO watching Game of Thrones, at least you know this is a suspension of reality and there really aren’t dragons flying and orcs going to attack you. So, in arts, it’s fiction and you get a worldview of the authors but your one step removed because it’s not presenting itself as a documentary of what happened. The news on the other hand is more dangerous. Because it presents itself as though this is reality and you don’t have that step removal. So, you drink it in like you’re watching history. Therefore, news has to be neutral because its main mission is to describe what’s happening not to give you a worldview. That spin everything that happens to create a predetermined ideological outcome. Make sense?

So, media has lost its Judeo-Christian moorings and now it’s become the advocacy for politics,which is over here. Which basically will destroy America and the acquisition of personal power. That’s exactly what you have with immigration right now. And this is witchcraft at a high level because you could see the video clips of Bill Clint and Barack Obama. I can take you back 8years, 7 years, 10 years and the very things that they’re saying we cannot afford nor will we have unrestricted unprotected migration of anyone who wants to get in the country for whatever reason they want, with whatever agenda they want. They cannot become pouring in and have the rights of a citizen and take the place of a city and affect the nation we’re going to have and there everyone’s applauding Democrats and Republicans Obama says it. Clinton said it. Neither of them did it. Trump quotes the same quote and he’s a racist hater of Mexicans.

And the news bangs that out there and the millennials, unfortunately, the next 75 million people to vote are all hating him. Because it’s a poisoning of the next generation because academics, academia, and the schools, social media, entertainment, and corporate meeting. My son Lance is,he’s a beautiful young man of God and I talked to him and parents have this awkward situation where you have to, you can’t, at certain point you’re a chain of council not command. You can’t tell your kids what to do but what he said to me was kind of an alert. He said, ‘Dad, in order to be balanced, I have to listen to several sources.’ And it makes sense, but if the sources are going to be the Daily Beast and MSNBC and CNN. In other words, if you have five different sources but the enemy has 95% of the market dominated by four corporate offices that are controlling 95% of the media and the talking point are generated to 1500 thought leaders every day. Here’s the language we’re using and so they’re using it from talk shows, to TV shows, to the view, to the news, and the average person who thinks they’re just getting a sample of different viewpoints is getting the same viewpoint distributed through 10 or 15 different news outlets. That’s not diversity.

So, I’m thinking, man, I’m just sharing this with you because I’m saying we’re ambassadors for Christ. We got a relationship focus this weekend. But we got a several hats we have to wear and one of them is understand what’s going on in the world around you. We’ve had the collapse of the family. We’ve had the collapse of education. We’ve had the collapse of well, politics has always been like this. It’s just that now it’s got entering a lunacy moment when it used to be a hidden agenda. Now, it’s becoming the unmasked agenda.

It’s like somebody was saying, what do you think deep state said it’s not deep state it’s obvious state. It stopped being deep state about 6 months ago. Now it’s on the surface state. You see who the players are. It’s no longer hidden. Media has gone in a certain direction. How many of you know Hollywood, the award ceremonies are basically a visceral attack moment for all things related to Donald Trump. I keep saying that these mind molars are doing this and then we have business and I was shocked by business, because I thought that business was probably the last institution was going to collapse. Because 70% of the economics that drives the American engine is small business and small business is basically family owned or it’s owned by citizens. What I didn’t realize is that Wall Street, big business and the great influencers who donate and have influence with the politicians that they are actually not pro America, they are globalist. And therefore, the more global and of course they talk about free trade.

Now what they really mean is they don’t care if American jobs get gutted. They don’t care if infrastructure goes down. They don’t care if industry in the heartland is destroyed. And they don’t care if there’s a trade in balance for these nations. Because if they’re making money and they’re on the stock exchange and they’re getting a return investment for their investors, as long as they’re doing well it doesn’t matter how many Americans suffer. I understand the game. But what you got to see is the big money here is not make America great again. It’s make a profit. So,you’ve got the business arena, the arts, you got the media, you’ve got politics, and of course this goes down to the judges which is a scary thing. Because as these all collapse, all power goes to government and courts because somebody’s going to have to declare a winner and a loser in the conflicts of life and we no longer have consensus as a culture. We no longer have agreement that this is right and this is wrong.

So, someone’s going to have to decide. Here’s the scary thing. If the people that decide are appointed by politicians and the politicians are interested in defeating their opposition, then the judges are actually not neutral judges, they’re judges with an agenda called activist judges. So, I want you to be optimistic about the future and you know why? I want you out this by the future. It’s kind of like when the Lord does something if you know the magnitude of what he’s done he gets even more glory. It’s kind of like well you know it was never that bad in the first place. No,it’s bad.
