Speaker Mike Johnson Calls Democrats’ Bluff

House Speaker Mike Johnson is already fulfilling promises made to his Republican colleagues including releasing all security footage from January 6, 2021.

“Today, I am keeping my promise to the American people and making all the January 6th tapes available to ALL Americans,” Speaker Johnson wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

A statement released by the Speaker’s office reads in part, “This decision will provide millions of Americans, criminal defendants, public interest organizations, and the media an ability to see for themselves what happened that day, rather than having to rely upon the interpretation of a small group of government officials.”

One newly released video completely undermines the official narrative which clearly shows a positive interaction between one of the defendants and Capitol Police.

Regardless of political affiliation, every American should be celebrating this win for transparency and accountability. It could also shed light on questions which conservatives have been asking since the day of the incident: Why was protagonist Ray Epps never charged, and how many federal agents were involved?
