Senate Votes on Red Flag Law

On late Tuesday afternoon and with less than an hour to review the 80-page bill, the Senate voted on what some call the Red Flag bill draft. Chuck Schumer was calling the vote a bipartisan effort.
The vote was 64-34, with 14 Republican Senators voting in favor of the bill.

Texas Senator John Cornyn (R) claims the legislation would take guns out of the hands of those who are dangerous or break the law but wouldn’t affect the gun rights of law-abiding citizens. Cornyn also posted the full text of the bill on his website.

The full text of the original bill can be viewed here: Bipartisan Safer Communities Act.

Politico released a summary of the bill as well.
