Antisemitism on College Campuses Depends on *Context*

The Presidents from three prestigious universities, M.I.T., Harvard, and Penn State, met Tuesday for a congressional hearing, answering questions regarding the rise of anti-semitism on campus.
One of the questions included, “Does calling for the genocide of Jews violate [your university’s] code of conduct or rules regarding bullying or harassment?” The answers given by Presidents Gay, Magill, and Kornbluth were so unbelievable that one of the Representatives repeated her questions several times.
In fact, Representative @Elise Stefanik was so shocked by their answers that she repeatedly asked each one the same question, to which they gave the same answers repeatedly.
In short, they said, It ‘depends on the context’ and ‘whether the speech turns into conduct,’ that is, actually killing Jews.
Some believe this could be the most extraordinary testimony ever elicited in Congress, certainly on the topic of genocide, which, to remind us all, is: “the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the purpose of destroying that nation or group.”
