Episode Transcript

Lance: O Boy, listen to me. I’m telling you today is going to be a very interesting kind of show, because I’m talking about your DNA, your history, your generational. Mercedes Sparks here at NRB. We’re talking, we’re doing some really interesting interviews and one of the cool ones has to do with this DNA kit that does not take your DNA and archive it but has up to five different split streams of Jewish identity. So many people are finding their roots. A percentage of them is actually tied into the first century Jewish people, right?

Mercedes: Yeah.

Lance: You can find this at I want you to take action I’m doing it again because I want to get more specificity on my own tribes and villages this will tell you exactly the tribes and villages in your bloodline.

Mercedes: yeah.

Lance: Crazy.

Mercedes: Well, and he said Aaron who’s going to be on today he said that he’s actually going to do special research into your family tree.

Lance: O Boy, it’s going to be a reveal.

Mercedes: I think that sounds amazing.

Lance: My son Carl, we were in Prague together and he had this trench coat on he looked like a rabbi people are actually greeting him like it was a it was hilarious.

Mercedes: Shalom, shalom.

Lance: They were shouting shalom and what are they doing? He’s got the shalom, shalom. They think he’s a rabbi. Anyway, you want to go to Lancewallnau.com/MyHeritage. Let’s do it together. Let’s find out exactly why it is that you are the way you are and what your origins are. Oh, from whatever they are.

Mercedes: And what makes this company safe and different from all the other ones out there that are excited with the government?

Lance: It’s safe Boys and girls.

Mercedes: Check it out.

Lance: Alright, we’ll be right into this broadcast. You’re going to love it.

O Boy, O boy, here we are again. What a wild week this is here at the NRB. Ladies and gentlemen, over here in this corner of 4,000 people that I just ran into Janice Prager by the way, who’s here. And so, this is a rather unique gathering of broadcasters. But I had someone here who is going to answer questions for all of you. Have you ever felt like maybe you were Jewish or you thought you had kind of Hebrew background or that you think somewhere in your spiritual DNA that you’re related to Israel? Well, now you can find out and you can find out with the DNA test that doesn’t weird you out by worrying about the government collecting data on you. Because its actually believers got their hands on this process. I want you to meet Aaron Godfrey my special guest and the authority behind the My Heritage DNA kit that I want to talk to you about. Aron, welcome to the show.

Aaron Godfrey: Thank you for having me, Lance.

Lance: It’s good and now you have an accent I just noticed in my perception skills as an interviewer. Where you from?

Aaron Godfrey: Yeah. So, I was born and raised in the UK. And lived in a small village outside of London. In 2008, I was blessed to be able to move to the Holy Land to move to Israel with my wife. And we’ve been living there for the last almost 15 years.

Lance: Now I want to ask you a question. There are obviously some very schmaltzy, romantic charismatic Pentecostal types so listen to me. But I’m a little bit pragmatic. I think it’s because I actually have Jewish image. And the Israel is fraught with all kinds of danger and it’s in the Middle East. You got bombs bursting in air and Hamas and Hezbollah and the Palestinians and this and that. Well, you talk about it as though you you’re happy you’re there.

Aaron Godfrey: It’s amazing. I can’t tell you; I probably shouldn’t say this on air but you can leave your house in in where we live. It’s just a beautiful, safe area. You can walk around. My kids walk around and it’s a kind of a life I don’t think we’d be able to give them in the UK today. And you know what? It may be cliche to say especially to your audience but it feels like the land of miracles. I mean we recently has, as you know we recently had rocket attacks. And I’m watching this and we have these this amazing thing. The Iron Dome intercepting the rockets. It feels like God’s hand is literally catching these rockets. Preventing them. Some get through but preventing the majority from causing any harm.

Lance: The truth to the matter is it’s worth dangerous to live in New York or Chicago than Israel. Let’s be honest about it, people. I’d rather live with in Israel than in any Democrat run city in the United States. I mean necessarily. So, I was just down there like 7 weeks ago when Hamas was bombing.

Aaron Godfrey: Right.

Lance: And Hezbollah was bombing and2 people were shot in Jericho and 5 run over in Tel Aviv. Yeah, there’s a craziness there. However, there is a corresponding glory.

Aaron Godfrey: That’s right.

Lance: And if you’re wired in there, O boy does it make you want to go back? How many of you want to go to Israel with me? I’m thinking seriously of doing an Israel trip but we’ll discuss that a little bit later. Talk to me about the box that’s in your lap here. What do you have?

Aaron Godfrey: Okay. So, the other I guess main side of Israel is that it’s this hub of innovation and people are constantly thinking of new technologies that they can create and in a sense my heritage, the company was built to help people discover their family’s history easily through technology. You go in to MyHeritage.com at a couple of bits of information about your parents, your grandparents, and our technology will just find documents and historical records and other family trees that connect to yours. And on top of that, we offer My Heritage DNA which reveals to you your ethnic origins from over 2,100 genetic groups around the world. It finds you relatives among the 7 million people.

Lance: 2,100 genetic groups. What does that mean?

Aaron Godfrey: So, we look at your DNA and say not only what countries we think your ancestors lived in what villages we think they lived, in what community they lived in.

Lance: Are you serious what villages?

Aaron Godfrey: Yeah, and more than that especially I think in NRB there’s such a passionate love for Israel that I’m sensing here. people have this feeling especially with the Bible that this love of Israel that’s within them. And I was thinking now we can actually prove it that love is actually based on some genetic link. We can look at people’s DNA. We can see do they have Jewish DNA. We have different types of Jewish ethnicity on My Heritage. So, you can see if you have any Jewish DNA within you. Perhaps you’ll find relatives.

Lance: And by the way, of course everybody wants to be Jewish in America anyway. But I’ll tell you the truth. The Jewish people they didn’t have a great track record with the first century move. We had twelve apostles. We had Jesus was Jewish obviously. But the Gentile believers were the ones that responded to the word of God. So let me just make this little statement here. If you were a first century follower of Yeshua as a Gentile that would be interesting to know too that your DNA going to tell you the spiritual is going to tell you the genetic. But you can have genetic roots all the way back to the Middle East. Point is you could trace yourself to the Middle East era, where the gospel expanded or the Europe as I did. And then you go wait a second, because you might have Christianity or if you’re a believer you might have spirituality in the DNA 10generations back.

Aaron Godfrey: And for me myself, I mean, my uncle had probably explains that my DNA results weren’t that shocking, but I was 98% Ashkenazi Jew, but I was 2% Middle East.

Lance: You see what I mean?

Aaron Godfrey: Yeah.

Lance: I love it.

Aaron Godfrey: I thought about.

Lance: You had some Gentile got in by Ruth and Boaz. Somebody got in there.

Aaron Godfrey: That’s right.

Lance: Well, I’m telling you this is very exciting. What’s the turnaround time? If somebody gets a hold of the My Heritage DNA and they trust me and they trust you and they’re not worried about the government getting their DNA whatever that that theory is. What’s the turnaround time for results?

Aaron Godfrey: So, you ordered a kit and you’ll get a little cheek swab that you’ll do in your own home. You send it to our lab here in Houston.

Lance: You’re in Houston?

Aaron Godfrey: Yeah, our labs here in the US.

Lance: I’m in Dallas. I didn’t know you’re in here. I got to come to Orlando to meet you.

Aaron Godfrey: Might ask you to collect, take them over to the lab for us. But yeah, we process it in three to four weeks. You get a report, your ethnic origins, your DNA matches, and that’s it and you mentioned it before but we take this privacy super seriously. We in fact, don’t own your DNA. We explicitly state that we are just the custodians who are processing it for you.

Lance: Have you ever heard this? You might want to know this in case you’re Ashkenazi. Now, you could be Sephardic Jew too which is North Africa, right?

Aaron Godfrey: North Africa, Spain, and Portugal. There’re a few different strands.

Lance: Well, Jordan Peterson, I heard the illustrious Jordan Peterson says me. He said that according to his research, Jordan is a status and a psychologist. Ashkenazi Jews have an average a 10-point higher IQ. Did you know that?

Aaron Godfrey: I did not.

Lance: Well, it explains and he’s basically going to the idea that you cannot totally dismiss genetics from aptitude and that there certainly will be in a broad continuum of competency. Some are going to be more physically a droid. In my case, I think it’s the Jewish people tend to be more intellectually than physical. I mean, great football players isn’t Dershowitz is in the end zone is usually a lawyer, right?

Aaron Godfrey: It’s true. Yeah.

Lance: But I’m just saying that’s a terrible generalization but I think it’s true.

Aaron Godfrey: I think today it’s never been easier to discover where you you’re from to discover your story to discover the communities that you can connect to. The olden days you would have had to flown around the world and interview relatives and rely on.

Lance: This is amazing. This is the upside of science and technology.

Aaron Godfrey: Exactly.

Lance: So, give me a story of somebody who gets a result. You got all these stories. Give me a story.

Aaron Godfrey: I mean it’s amazing what we discover. I mean adopt finding their long-lostfamily. That’s something that happens regularly and beautiful stories. We have actually an amazing story here in the US recently. Two sisters who found each other after being one sister was actually based in Belgium. Both of them were originally from Korea. They were abandoned by their mother at a train station, three weeks apart. One of them was then taken by the social services in Korea and adopted to a family and placed an adoption with a family she ended up in Belgium and one ended up here in the US. One of the sisters decided she wanted to know her background, so she did a DNA test and pingping she found a sister. And they reunited and met for the first time at that same train station where they were abandoned.

Lance: This is a story. It’s what I meant. I knew this is a great story.

Aaron Godfrey: That is one of hundreds.

Lance: I got to tell you an unusual story. It’s not a DNA story, but it is. I had a friend of mine Betsy Kelstra who is she and her husband Chester and Betsy Kelstra had originated something called “Restoring the Foundations”. A very powerful kind of like spirit counseling and healing tool. Which in part goes through your what you do know about your background, so that you could kind of see what are the tendencies or eccentricities or whatever that’s in the bloodline. The bible does talk about stuff like that. And she was adopted, and as 6 months of age she was put up for adoption. She wanted to meet her parents, her birth parents. By the way, she’s an expert banjo player curiously enough which is it’s funny Femi a woman is a psychologist banjo player. But she’s reunited with her parents. And upon meeting her parents who are in their like 70s at this point, she comes to find out that her father is an expert banjo player.

Aaron Godfrey: Wow.

Lance: Now figure out at 6 months of age she had in her the DNA of a banjo player and when she heard the sound, she thought it was a happy sounding instrument. Her father’s reason for the banjo, it was a happy sounding instrument.

Aaron Godfrey: Wow.

Lance: These are mysterious things but it gave me goosebumps which I saw is there’s no explanation of six months that you thought, I think I’ll be a banjo player.

Aaron Godfrey: Just last week had a reunion between two sisters, also two sisters. One was in the UK; one was in Australia and they were both called Susie. The family had called them both Susie. They had the same name.

Lance: This is bizarre. There is a supernatural thing is. So, once again how do they get in touch with you? How do they get in touch with My Heritage?

Aaron Godfrey: Just head over to MyHeritage.com”, and start building a family tree or go down the DNA route.

Lance: And explain to me if I do this. I’ve already done this with some other you know thing of a jiggy. My staff made me do, because I keep talking about my Jewish background. I said, find out how much Jew you got. I have a New York Jew. It’s the strongest Jew you can get even if it’s 25% or 20%. But how can you get different results from different DNA test? Because people might say I’ve already done it, this could be different. Why?

Aaron Godfrey: So, if you’ve already done it head over to MyHeritage.com/DNA/upload and you can actually upload the DNA that you’ve tested elsewhere and we’ll do the analysis for you. I mentioned before for example and this is one example. We have more Jewish ethnicities. We have a very large different varied group of ethnic origins that you can explore.

Lance: Five kinds of Jewish DNA.

Aaron Godfrey: Yeah, right.

Lance: Mine only measure it too.

Aaron Godfrey: Right. So, we can look at five. We have users from all over the world who have done it. So, the pool of people that you may match to comes from countries near and far. Very very varied and global database.

Lance: And your DNAs are going to be affected by your diet. The swab isn’t going to be affected by a cup of coffee. Is that for real? And it’s a mystery to me. I mean, they do that and it’s like do you do Listerine and then do a swab and it still doesn’t affect it?

Aaron Godfrey: They recommend that you have a little drink or you don’t eat for 15 minutes. So, if you can hold off 15 minutes, then but I’ve seen people swig a cup of coffee and then send it off for a swab. They don’t find out that they’re Colombian because of that. You know what I mean? It’s all good. Unless they are Colombian in which case they are.

Lance: Oh hilarious. Yeah. Oh my gosh. Yes. Okay. Well, listen. I want to thank you very much for being on our show today. This is Aaron Godfrey. You now know MyHeritage.com and you guys want to check it out. Let’s go ahead and send me your results. YouTube, send it to me if you haven’t already done this yet. Like and subscribe, YouTube, Facebook, Rumble, Twitter, wherever the internet is allowing my voice to be heard. I want to read your comments. I read your comments after every show in order to see what people are thinking. Thank you very much brother.

Aaron Godfrey: Thank you very much.

Lance: God bless you. And we’re going to be right back after this.

Welcome back. This particular segment is especially important because you might say to yourself what does Israel Lance have to do? What’s the first thing to think of when you think of Israel in DNA? Well, I think of pickleball. That’s what I think of. And I’ve got friends of mine that are really loving this pickleball thing. A matter of fact if you liked ping pong and it’s not, you’re too old navy for tennis. This is right in your sweet spots. I got friends of mine that are doing pickleball evangelism, pickleball church growth. I know churches are putting pickleball courts up.

Folks, I don’t care. If you haven’t heard about this yet, I want you to meet like a lady who is I think she’s like the president of the Pickleball Association. She’s a wild enthusiast and she explains to us and brings the props to the set list. I want you to watch and enjoy it. I’m going to start picking up pickleball and when we travel, we’re going to have a pickleball get together. I’m telling you right now, I’m thinking about it. Annabelle and I are going to have some fun. Check this out.

Lance: Well, I’m hearing about this. It’s the 26.5million people are now playing this sport. It is grown by 158% over the last 3 years. I’m travelling around and I’m hearing about pickleball. Now, I have to tell you, I have not played pickleball. But I learned that there was a pickleball expert in my midst today. So, Cathy Largent, would you please share with us what pickleball is?

Christy Largent: Yes.

Lance: For those who don’t know.

Christy Largent: Yes, thank you Lance. Christy Largent and I am a pickleball fanatic addict. It is a not only the fastest growing sport in, but it is a cross between kind of tennis and badminton and ping pong and most people can play it the first time they pick up their paddles.

Lance: Oh well, no there’s well I’m a ping pong guy.

Christy Largent: Oh, well you are going to be a natura.

Lance: I like badminton, so I think there’s some potential here.

Christy Largent: You are going to be a natural. 100%. In fact, the people who played badminton and ping pong tend to do better even than tennis players.

Lance: Why is that, do you suppose?

Christy Largent: It’s a really fast sport a lot of hand eye you use a paddle and so it’s natural. It feels natural for ping pong players. Yeah.

Lance: How large is space you’re working in?

Christy Largent: Half of a tennis court with 4 people. So, you can imagine like you don’t have to move very fast.

Lance: Yeah.

Christy Largent: Like anyone can do it.

Lance: You don’t have a lot of you’re not running back and forth like Wimbledon.

Christy Largent: Exactly. Exactly. Yeah. Exactly.

Lance: How did you get involved with this?

Christy Largent: I fell in love with it. I had heard about it for years and then we were on a cruise believe it or not in 2019 and they were playing it and I went up to the deck to see what they were doing., And as I race after the ball, I took a flying leap landed on my belly did a belly flap my kids were mortified I was hooked. Because I mean what else can you do in middle age that you can do flying leaps have that much fun and that was the beginning.

Lance: It’s a good point. That’s a great point actually. Well, and so I have a friend of mine who’s a business builder and a lot of his clients come from pickleball and this is incredible. So, I go, wait, this is an evangelism strategy. So, my audience is obviously ardent Christian type folks. How does pickleball evangelism work?

Christy Largent: Well, this is my new system that I came up with because we have so many pickleball players like millions. And there’s only 10,000 courts in the United States. But how many churches do we have? And so, my idea is to help a million people play pickleball in churches by 2030 and we’re going to do that by helping churches start, run, and grow their pickleball programs.

Lance: Well, I have a pastor. My pastor Colette Keith out there in Kentucky has a pickleball court where they do pickleball outreach in their community. That’s when I finally went over the edge and I said, I’ve got to start playing pickleball. How do people find these pickleball places?

Christy Largent: They’re all over. There’s a website called Places to Play and they have links to all the places to play all over the world actually.

Lance: Alright. Now, I understand you have some props with you. I would like my audience to see the signs of the pickleball paddle.

Christy Largent: Well, this is one size. This is a beginner paddle and when we decided to do this interview, I actually and this is how ubiquitous pickleball is. We’re here in a resort, right? The act, the people who are over at the villas have pickleball paddles that they loan to the people who come. So, you can see this is one. This is the second. This is a beginner paddle. So, it’s kind of heavy but that’s the beautiful thing about pickleball.

Lance: Wait, wait, wait, a beginner is heavy. Is it lighter if you’re a pro?

Christy Largent: Well, I use a pro paddle not because I’m a pro player, but I want to be. So, I use a nicer paddle. It’s like anything. Your instruments get more expensive the more technical they are and this is just like the beginner model.

Lance: Show me the ball. What size is it?

Christy Largent: Okay, this is the ball, the pickleball. You can hear the sound. Okay, this is the controversy. That’s why churches need to step it up because the controversy in communities. I don’t know if you can hear that but the sound is a little bit. Like I love the sound but a lot of people hate the sound.

Lance: Oh, so there are people that might complain about the sound of the pickleball paddle.

Christy Largent: Yeah.

Lance: Is it the paddle or the or when it hits the ground?

Christy Largent: It’s hitting the paddle. It’s the ball hitting the paddle. It’s like a little ball.

Lance: How do you score? Don’t you hit it off the ground? Oh, you don’t.

Christy Largent: You can take it out of the air. There’s a lot of rules okay I’m just going to say there’s a lot of rules. It takes you a time or two.

Lance: Not a complicated pickleball.

Christy Largent: Here’s the thing you can learn pick the first time you play; it will take a lifetime to master. That’s the beauty of pickleball because you just keep playing to get better. You get hooked.

Lance: What’s that game that British people play. Squash, right?

Christy Largent: It’s easier than squash.

Lance: Cricket or cricket?

Christy Largent: It’s easier than cricket.

Lance: Cricket’s totally confusing.

Christy Largent: It’s totally easier than that. I mean, if you can hit the ball with the paddle, you can play pickleball.

Lance: How do you score points?

Christy Largent: You score points by hitting the ball and your opponent doesn’t return it. So, they either hit it in the or they hit it out. And then if you are the server, there’s two ways, I’m not getting into it. There’re a couple ways.

Lance: You serve fast as it all go underhand.

Christy Largent: It’s underhand and it’s fast but.

Lance: Oh, it is.

Christy Largent: No, yeah. The pros are amazing. Yeah, you can watch the pros. They’re on the professional Pickleball Association or Major League Pickleball which is super fun and easier to understand. I’m telling you guys; this is like a whole world. There you go. Look at you. You’re a natural. Look at this guy.

Lance: Ladies and gentlemen, going to be doing pickleball. Alright, now look. I see a potential for the Pickleball Dreamtrips. Pickleball, hey I think pickleball politics.

Christy Largent: Oh, I wish we could have this much fun in politics.

Lance: Yeah, we’re going to have all our conservative, oh pickleball Patriots. Okay, so how long does the average game last?

Christy Largent: Well, it depends like if sometimes it’s like a three-minute game. You’re like wait what happened here right? Because the other people are so much better. But typically, it’s about a 8 to 10 minute game. Yeah.

Lance: 8-to-10-minute game.

Christy Largent: And except the pros. If you’re watching the pros, some of those games or matches a set of three games will last an hour and a half when you’re at the pro level. It’s fascinating.

Lance: We got a here at the year resort, don’t we? We have a pickleball.

Christy Largent: They have one over at the Villas at the Marriott, at the Villas. Yeah.

Lance: Okay, alright so now Christy, how do they get in touch with you if they want to know more about your vision for pickleball tickets for the world?

Christy Largent: Yeah, “ChristyLarhent.com just like it sounds and then on Instagram you can find me “@ChristyLargent, you can also find me at the Christian Pickleball Collective on Instagram. We’re growing that. This is all pretty new. The thing with Pickleball Lance is this is new. This is it’s not a new sport. It’s kind of almost as old as I am.

Lance: Wait a second. This has been around.

Christy Largent: This has been around? It was founded in Bainbridge, Washington. It was a backyard game and then it’s just been in the last five years, it’s exploded.

Lance: Oh, what a hoot. An American sport.

Christy Largent: An American sport. Although it’s global. I will say it’s global.

Lance: Of course, it’s viral, I guess you are. So, there’s only 10,320 pickleball courts right now but the demand is there. I don’t know. People could probably build a court and rent it out, don’t you think?

Christy Largent: They can and there are people doing that already.

Lance: I see a pickleball opportunity here for pickleball prosperity. Alright. Christy, thank you very much and it’s going to be ChristyLargent.com.

Christy Largent: You got it.

Lance: Thanks for being with us today.

Christy Largent: See you on the courts, Lance.

Lance: Thanks for watching today. Don’t forget to like and subscribe. I read your comments. I love this audience engagement. I look forward to seeing you again tomorrow.

Break: Hey, let’s take a moment right here and talk about something. These programs are actually paid for by sponsors and so, the one thing that I always do is try to pick the sponsors that have the greatest value. Those are the ones that I myself believe in. Now, the Birch Gold Group is one of those key sponsors and I’ll tell you why. The economy is the area that I’m the most concerned about in terms of instability in the future. Do you know that right now, China and Russia and India are meeting with Saudi Arabians and South Africans to create an alternative economy to basically crush the dollar? This is going to have a massive effect on the stock market, on real estate. It’ll be a real shaking. But you don’t have to be shaken because there’s a way you can protect your retirement, your 401Ks, your IRAs by connecting in with gold. Gold is unique in history and that it’s a place of stored value. In fact, those BRICS nations of Brazil and Russia, India, and China, they’re going to be backing themselves with, guess what? Gold. So, be smart. I want you to go to “Lancewallnau.com/Birch” and get a free information kit. Get knowledge, act quickly, don’t wait and they’re going to be able to help you make a great decision on what to do. Remember that information is free with no strings attached. Do it now. “Lancewallnau.com/Birch”.
