Howard Schultz of Starbucks fame, announced earlier this month that he was exploring a presidential run in 2020 to much uproar from the Democrat side of the aisle. Of course, the reason for this is simple – there will only be one party whos vote will be split if Schultz runs and the Republicans know it isn’t theirs.
Here’s the thing, the closest an independent candidate has ever come to winning the presidency is when Ross Perot won 20 percent of the popular vote in 1992. Both the Democrats and the President know this, so on one side we have Democratic activists howling for a Starbucks boycott (which is ridiculous, as Schultz has already retired as Starbucks chairman) and on the other side, we have a President who clearly loves the idea of Schultz peeling off some Dem votes.
Howard Schultz doesn’t have the “guts” to run for President! Watched him on @60Minutes last night and I agree with him that he is not the “smartest person.” Besides, America already has that! I only hope that Starbucks is still paying me their rent in Trump Tower!
