President Trump Calls Governors, Addresses Riots, Walks to Burned Church (VIDEO)

President Trump spoke to the American people from the White House Rose Garden yesterday about the violent riots that have swept many major U.S. cities.

Earlier in the day, he led a conference call with the Nation’s fifty governors in which he demanded they “get tough” and chastised “most” of them for being “weak.”

Reports indicate that none of the governors pushed back against the president as he told them to put an end to the wanton violence or he will employ the military to do it for them.

In his address from the Rose Garden, President Trump reassured Americans that justice will be served for George Floyd but that the violent riots can not and will not be tolerated. The president said in part,

“My fellow Americans – My first and highest duty as President is to defend our great Country and the American People. I swore an oath to uphold the laws of our Nation — and that is exactly what I will do…

My administration is fully committed that, for George and his family, justice will be served. He will not have died in vain…

But we cannot allow the voices of peaceful protesters to be drowned out by an angry mob… I will fight to protect you…

In recent days, our nation has been gripped by professional anarchists… a number of state and local governments have failed to protect the safety of their residents…

These are acts of domestic terror… I want the organizers of this terror to be on notice that you will face severe criminal penalties and likely sentences in jail…

We must never give in to anger or hatred. If malice or violence reigns then none of us are free.”

The last thing he said was “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to pay my respects to a very important place.” President Trump then proceeded to walk across the street to the burned St. John’s Episcopal Church.

This was a power move for a couple of reasons. First, Trump walked through the same park where rioters had been clashing with police the night before. And second, he held up the Holy Bible in front of the boarded up church. Both actions were major visual demonstrations of strength at a time when we needed it dearly.
