Prayer Directives January 29th, 2019

  • President Trump – Nancy Pelosi recently denied the President’s response to allow his State Of The Union Speech on 1/29/19. He made a decision to postpone his speech until the government shutdown ended. Now that the shutdown has been temporarily ended, pray for Democrat congressmen and women to reconsider their position regarding the border wall. Continue praying for the “boomerang” effect on those who come against our President. Continue to also pray for the wisdom of Solomon for President Trump and that he would outwit his enemies. Declare the Shalom of God to rest upon our President as well as divine protection day and night.
  • Karen Pence – Last week Vice-President Mike Pence’s wife, Karen, was attacked by vocal LGBT activists and by some in the media. The reason? For teaching at a Christian school that still teaches the Bible as the authoritative word of God! The headlines suggest that Karen Pence and the Christian school are somehow targeting people who identify as LGBT. Pray for her protection, as well as for the school. Pray for them to have wisdom and the courage to stand according to Ephesians 6:13.
  • Government Shutdown and The Wall – The President announced a temporary end to the government shutdown with a February 15, 2019 deadline. Some are saying he “caved” when he actually did not. Continue praying that the truth outshines the narrative being played across media outlets. Pray for those in support of a wall to speak out for the security of our nation. (Please call the Congressional Switchboard at 202-224-3121. You will be prompted to choose to connect with your Senator or your Representative. Follow the prompts and be sure to leave a message if your call is not answered personally.)
  • New Attorney General – Senate hearings have concluded for President Trump’s pick for a new attorney general, the head of the nation’s highest legal office. The nominee is William Barr. He knows the job, as he served as attorney general under President H.W. Bush from 1991 to 1993. He is a conservative, but he doesn’t always agree with President Trump’s policies. It appears that in this position, the president is not looking for a yes-man, but one who will consider the rule of law and follow it. Let us also be praying for Senator Lindsey Graham, who will be chairing the committee.
  • New York State’s New Law on Abortion up to full Term Birth – This has (rightfully) alarmed and sickened many who have been fighting against abortion for a long time. Pray that people will seek God for kingdom solutions and strategies to implement at their local level. Pray for the Ekklesia to rise up in micro-church groups, as well as in grass-root type efforts.
