OP-Ed: Calling Out The Daniels, Josephs, and Esthers!

If you are anything like me, when it comes to your social media news feeds, you are likely groaning at the sheer inundation of the constant barrage of the latest tragedy, thinking, “OH my gosh..look at ______!” (Just fill in the blank with whatever you consider the most current atrocity is coming from culture).

This week’s headlines have been all about Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith, and the “slap heard around the globe” during the Oscars held Sunday evening. I, like many others, no longer watch the show for numerous reasons. My reasons mainly deal with the ever-increasing political polarization. And yet, with social media, one can hear about the latest tragedy without ever watching shows like the Oscars to know what happened.
Sources such as The Babylon Bee shared multiple articles, including a list of 14 fictional headlines to mainstream media sharing various responses such as actor-comedian Jim Carrey calling the Oscars audience “spineless” for giving Will Smith a standing ovation.

Considering Hollywood’s decadence over the many years and the sheer overabundance of whatever money can buy them has led them to debauchery and more. It has also created a group of elites who, whether they are aware or not, are leading themselves and those who follow them to the point of no return. It is all becoming very “ad-nauseam” at this point…And yet. I can’t help but wonder what the believers in the entertainment mountain (one of the seven mountains or spheres of culture) are doing. What are they thinking or praying? Do they have support of any kind to stand courageously?

This week I also came across a post on Twitter of an exposè coming out shortly from journalist Chris Rufo who obtained an exclusive undercover video from within Disney. Rufo posted regarding an all-hands meeting about the Florida parental rights bill. Executive producer Latoya Raveneau shares how her team has implemented a “not-at-all-secret gay agenda” and is regularly “adding queerness” to children’s programming.

While all of this makes me want to scream due to Disney’s sheer audacity, I have to ask, “where are the Daniels, the Josephs, or the Esthers?”

If there is anything I’ve learned in these past six and a half years seeing what has happened in America, we desperately need answers and action. Additionally, we need kingdom-minded individuals who have an unlimited supply of courage to stand in the face of the bloviating windstorm coming from hell itself within the areas of culture! I know you are out there!
I am calling all the “Daniels, Josephs, Esthers, Deborahs,” and more to make your stand.
My point is not to criticize you but to challenge you to stand with courage! To those of you who have been steadfast in your commitment, in whatever your job is in these areas, keep it up!

As surely as our God stood with Abraham, Isaac, Moses, and countless others found in the Hallmark of faith listed in chapter 11 in the book of Hebrews, He is standing with you right where you are! Get two or three people you trust that will cover you in prayer to stand with courage successfully, making an impact within whatever mountain you are in.
