Midterms Update––Be of good cheer!

Paul said these words in the middle of a storm, right at its most critical and distressing point, “When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days and the great storm continued to batter us, we abandoned all hope of being saved.” (Acts 27:20)

It was at this moment Paul rose to encourage his fellow shipmates just days before the ship broke apart. Why was Paul able to be happy?

He had inside information.

He was a prisoner on board their ship, and God was taking him to Rome. Paul warned them not to take this journey. They were a vessel that was out of the will of God, but that’s nothing new to God. the Lord created a path to discipline them, get the Apostle to his destination, and add new territory simultaneously. God planned to reveal His kingdom and realign them with His will on an island called Malta.

They couldn’t see the island, but Paul got a glimpse of it in an angelic encounter. So that’s why he was happy. God had put his face in Rome, and nothing would stop him from getting there. They were all saved from destruction because of Paul’s unfinished assignment––and Paul’s assignment right now had to do with the Roman government and a court case.

Here is my application of the story to our current distress.

Let’s see how this might apply.

1. The ship of state, America, is caught in a storm of its own creation, driven by its disobedience.

2. It’s going to get worse as economic loss of cargo is involved.

3. You, the church, are captive on this ship. (You may think you’re detached, but their decisions impact your life as surely as the ship impacted Paul.)

4. Just like Paul, God has an unfinished purpose for the church to fulfill and is using the storm to get us into the future He wants us to step into. So far from being irrelevant, the church is the ultimate reason this nation will make it through to the other side.

5. The Apostle’s intercession was about to be answered, but in a different way than expected. A quiet sea and tranquil arrival in Rome will not glorify God, but a shipwreck, no loss of life, a revival, and new territory added while a new ship is acquired, well, that’s God’s way of doing things. There are times when “it’s a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

GET READY: Malta is the new territory of revival that is about to break open as souls come into the kingdom and God is made manifest in specific geographic locations.

This scenario is what we’ve been saying all along since 2016. It’s the blueprint!

So that is why you can be happy. Significant grounds were taken and held in our Midterm elections, but not enough to deliver a political solution to our national storm! That’s God. Enough ground was taken to put a check on the devil but not enough to cast him out entirely. Our deliverance is not coming through politics, though the government Centurion saved Paul’s life from execution when the ship broke up.

Now is the time to do a forensic on the results. There is a lot of hope for the Republican coalition, given their performance with Hispanic and black voters, but what about election theft? The election map is a spiritual warfare heat map. Where did the devil succeed – again? Maricopa country again? Philadelphia again? How can we stop that? We need Righteous Governors and legislature to dismantle electoral corruption. DeSantis cleaned up election nonsense in Dade county and Miami, and the results were HUGE! Only big win of the night.

Is the party leadership up to the task of winning? Did we put on the field winning candidates? Apart from the election theft issue, was Os really better than David McCormick? How much of this loss was because of candidate quality? Did McConnell really sabotage key MAGA candidate Senators? Is the party leadership immobilized because of its hatred of Trump? There’s much to learn.

If we lost in certain states because the people elected unrighteous rulers, we have no recourse but to accept the results. We live in a day when territories are being marked off. While Tares and Wheat wrestle, Sheep and Goat states and nations get separated. Or so it seems. God judges nations during this time in history and judges souls after this life in eternity.

BACK TO THE STORM
Paul was a hostage to the ship captain’s decisions but not to the ship captain’s destination. God would determine where they ended up. When you pick up one end of a stick, you automatically pick up the other. Choices shape destiny and destiny has a destination attached.

The more desperate the times, the more receptive the people are. That is why Mario and I are going to Fort Meyers, Florida, and setting up the big tent for revival and reformation. The political without the spiritual will not succeed. Revival without reformation will not save the nation. We need a populist movement fueled by spiritual awakening.

We are heading to Malta, and God gave us a measure of favor with the Centurion on our ship. They won’t kill us. It’s time to do your job. Malta is on the horizon.
