Lance’s Great and Terrible Bible Study

Lance: There is an anointing that is being released right now and it’s a different kind of anointing. It’s the spirit of Elijah, you could say as John the Baptist had and I believe it’s a voice crying out of the wilderness right now but that many people are already starting to hear it and coming out to the baptism. They’re coming out to an encounter with God. We’re seeing souls coming out. We’re seeing the signs and wonders that we’ve prophesied and talked about. Beginning to become manifest. And all of this is because we’re Looking at the great and the terrible day of the Lord. We’re looking at the coming together of shaking and the coming together of an awakening at the same time.

I describe it in detail. It’s a lengthy, detailed understanding what’s happening in the next 50 minutes. Grab your Bible. This is going to be an unusual broadcast but you need to see the connection between what’s happening politically, what’s happening culturally, and what’s happening in the Great Awakening. Because God is saving nations right now.

I’m going to attempt to do something today which is very hard to do. Ask you to pray for me while I do it. I want to take what’s happening in America right now and tie it into the biblical pattern for what God is doing. Because we look at these separate events and we say, well, how do they tie together. I’m going to make the case right now that we’re in the middle of a great move of God, a great visitation of God. And it’s to shape the nation and literally to deliver the nation from an attack that Satan has been executing to take the United States down as a world power.

I remember in the year 2000 when it was Pat Robertson wrote a book on the millennium. He said that the sign of the acceleration of the end would be what happens to the United States. Because Jesus said that Jerusalem will be trotting down under the feet of men until of the time of the Gentiles had come to its finish. And that at the time when the Gentiles were at the end, was going to be the time when affairs were going to come galvanizing back to the Middle East. Israel would become the controversial centerpiece of global events, and you have the end time kick in.

Now this according to Pat Robertson really affected me, because he said in what is the nation that is the pinnacle of Gentile power. It is the United States of America in the post-World War two era following the devastation of Europe. All of its industrial centers were bombed out, Germany bombed out London. London had bombed out Germany. It was the whole European continent was in rubble. And then Marshall came along with the Marshall plan which was basically to rebuild nations. This is why the United States is it it’s criminal to vilify America, because it’s the only nation that wins a war. And then goes to Japan to rebuild the country. Goes to Germany to rebuild the country. Goes to Europe to rebuild it.

Great Britain had become bankrupted during this period of time. And if you’re student history you see the agony of Churchill as he realizes that the axis of world power was moving to the United States and away from Great Britain. But many biblical scholars had concluded that because Britain had not stood. England had not stood with Israel in its battle to form its nation that Lord’s hand was no longer on England as it was before. It had survived the war. It had come out in peace. But it was no longer a world power. And it is true that for reasons of oil and energy and alliance with Egypt and the Suez Canal that that Great Britain didn’t stand with Israel in its survival in 1947 against the surrounding Arab nations.

They took a neutral position rather than a supportive position. Truman came along at time and stood with Israel becoming a nation. And in fact, for those of you that study the history he likened himself Truman to Cyrus of all things. Said that from his Bible Sunday school days he knew about Cyrus being the Gentile ruler that actually stood for the reemergence of Israel in Jerusalem and he considered himself a modern-day Cyrus and he was absolutely right. so, the United States went into a period of global dominance. We were the only super power that have the economy, the economic system that can underwrite reconstruction for the world in the post-world war era and produced friendly nations out of enemies. Japan, Germany, divided east and west with Stalin but the western part was under the democratic umbrella.

So, you see the rebuilding of friends that were, the creation of friends out of people that were actually enemies. And it’s a kind of a beautiful moment when you the high watermark of the United States in a sense. Now we had the economic system. We had the legal system of courts and laws and of western law that would dominate the trade roots and the negotiation of how economies were going to emerge in America came out as the untouched superpower. All of our industrial might are manufacturing from Ford to our various power plants. We’re all in a war footing and the machinery that came out of the United States literally produced the balance of power that shifted against Germany.

Germany completely underestimated Churchill, well underestimated Roosevelt. He saw a man in a wheelchair and in a nation that had no military to speak of at the beginning of World War two. Because we were in a different kind of war footing and we didn’t want to get involved with Europe. So, we did not actually prepare for war. Men were walking around with broomsticks preparing in drills as we were starting to gear up towards having to have an army to fight in Europe. But once the engines of democracy as they were called were fired up, the manufacturing plants, the airlines, all of the machinery that created that vast armada of weaponry was already to be retooled back for domestic production for cars and for jets and for all kinds of industrial initiatives that just put America into a place where following the 1945 end of the war it the American era. But it wasn’t without a threat. The threat was going to be the atomic age.

And so, when you hear of the prophecy of Jesus that Jerusalem is trotting down till the time the Gentiles, you have to look at history. This is God’s cosmic clock. 1967, you have the 6-day war. You have 1948 which was the battle for the survival of Israel. And like I said, England had put itself in a position where in a sense it had lost status as the dominant global economy and world power. America rose up. Pat Robertson’s premise was that when you see this greatest of Gentile nations coming down, it would be a sign of the end of that era of the Gentiles dominating history in a sense Israel then becomes the focal point of world crisis.

Are we at that place where Pat Robertson talked about where America as the world Gentile power comes down? Well, we’re watching that beginning to happen in a very sobering way. That’s why when I had written about Trump and the Cyrus anointing and God’s plan. Which was to really rebuild his house to bring great awakening and reformation. I wrote about the stages of that, that when Cyrus came, the project was rebuild the temple. And then as the temple was rebuilt, they had awakening and as they were rebuilding the church and the nation, awakening came and they were able to move on to securing Nehemiah’s day of restoring the walls and the gates.

This concept that God actually has laid out a blueprint for what he’s doing in the earth is clear in all of the writings of the prophets and the history in the Bible that follows Cyrus all the way through to Nehemiah’s day. And then it culminates with Malachi who is alive during a period of time as a prophet, writes the last book of the Old Testament. Then you have hundreds of years of silence, but let’s see how Malachi ends. So, Malachi is writing and once again, I’m tying this together with where we are now. I believe the Bible has the blueprints of patterns that repeat themselves in history. Which is why we can be very confident and accurate in predicting what happens when you see the biblical pattern. I’m share those with you today in today’s Bible study.

Malachi, the last chapter, the last writing of the last book before you have these hundreds of years of silence. And the last words are, “Behold, I’m going to send you Elijah the prophet. Before the coming of the great and terrible day of the Lord.” Notice something, there’s a great day of the lord and then there is a terrible day of the lord and these two days are delineated. The great day I would suggest is the great day in which the Messiah comes and the church begins and God begins the great redemption of mankind through the definitive act of the Messiah dying for the sins of the world.

Now the Jews were looking for a secular ruler and Alexander a Caesar someone who would put Israel back on the map. But Jesus understood something, that the victory was going to be over Satan and over sin and over death and over the power of hell on earth. So, that a great number of souls would come into the harvest, a great number of Gentiles. And that when they reached the fullness of the Gentiles, then you’re going to see history beginning to wrap up and focusing back on the Middle East.

This is when you see the emergence of all those prophecies about the 10 nations, the 10 Kings, the emergence of the Antichrist, the spirit of lawlessness globally, and then those last days events that we are also transfixed by. But these verses about the great and terrible days speak of a Terrible day towards the end, a great day in the beginning. And where we are now is at a point of transition. Where is America in prophecy and where are we? Well, I think this most free of all nations is United States. We have the apparatus and the ability for the last 50 years of gospel evangelizing throughout the world and it’s been a large part of why God has blessed this country.

Standing with Israel 1967 as they retake the city of Jerusalem begin to recover ground that the Gentile nations had. Gentile nations being Arab nations. Then you see coming back around again as Donald Trump comes into offices. I would say a second Cyrus, and he acknowledges Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Now this is a major political statement, because it says that Jerusalem is the capital and Israel is their nation. You realize that a lot of countries don’t even want to acknowledge the right of Israel to exist as a nation.

There’s when the United Nations went to vote. It was really bizarre. There was like seven countries that stood with the mighty United States in recognizing Israel’s right to its capital of Jerusalem. The rest of the world either voted against the Jews or were neutral for fear of offending their Muslim populations or their trade relationships. Trump just banned. Just went ahead and did it. He was told you’re going to have wars. You’re going to have wars. He said, no we’re not and he was right. There were no wars. There was just an adjustment. Out of that came the peace accords, the Abraham Accords which produced this remarkable symmetry of nations, the Saudis, Egypt, other countries that were willing to have peace with Israel as a democracy in the Middle East. Because they could see the threat of Iran and militant Islam, destabilizing these countries. And instead of our present government going in and strengthening the peace of the Middle East, what did they do? They went to Iran to try to help them on their nuclear bomb project, which is an insanity we won’t talk about.

We see Saudi Arabia turning their back on the Biden administration realizing that they are they’re dealing with someone who’s treating them like an enemy, arming Iran who is fighting a proxy war. A proxy war means other powers are at work through the proxy. And the proxy is the battle they have with Yemen. So, this kind of explains the reason why Saudi Arabia is adversarial with the United States. Really not with the United States with the Democrat run Biden administration wanting to fortify their enemies and they’re making enemies not only of Israel. They’re making enemies of all these other Arab nations a very strange hour history. But you need to know these things. Because as Christians, you have to understand the geopolitical reality of how spiritual warfare works out in the news.

My friend Dennis Peacock says, if you can’t take the page of like the Wall Street Journal or the Financial Times. And be able to lay it down and understand the spiritual map and warfare and events there in the news and tied into the Bible, then you’re functioning at a level of illiteracy. I’m sorry to say many prophetic people focus and fixate on Donald Trump or on the military or on Israel and they don’t see the complexity of what’s happening in the great picture.

Back to Malachi. He says, Behold, I’m going to send Elijah the prophet, before the coming of the great and terrible day of the lord. He will restore or turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse. That tells you something else. Nothing in the Bible precipitates or describes a curse from God on a nation. Like the destruction of the family. My wife is always telling me. I do 7 Mountains and I’ve done conferences where we have banners up and it’s the church banner, the family banner and the government banner. She’ll always tell me the family mountain. That’s the most important. And I’ve come to agree with her because I used to think, well the church and then of course whoever’s in government. But if you think about it God started with a family in the Garden of Eden. And the church is actually the family of God together in Community.

Family is the centerpiece of what God creates. And when it’s all said and done, the millennium is come and the new heaven and new earth is here. You’re going to still have nations. You’re still going to have people but you’re going to have the family spirit around the world where people are they’re no longer at war with each other. They’re a community. So, the prophet says, I’m sending Elijah before those days. Hundreds of years silence and then boom, something happens. As you flip over the New Testament, the new agreement, the new covenant, the new contract. God begins with mankind. It’s going to be one that includes the Gentiles. It’s going to be one sealed with the blood of Jesus with communion and it’s where the new agreement starts with God and man.

We go into there and we could start off with let’s go with Luke is a great guy to go with. Because as a doctor, Luke gives us more of the New Testament I think than anyone else wrote. He is an eye for detail as a physician would have. He uses more words than other writers. He uses more specific language and he uses greater information more details are in each chapter. So, I like to go to Luke. So, we start with the first chapter of Luke and we have the miraculous birth of John. His mother was old the father and even forgotten he had ever prayed for a son and an angel shows up as his father who is a priest. In the order priesthood, John the Baptist being, the son he’s about to have should be in the order of the priesthood. But God’s going to separate him and make him a different kind of office.

He’s not going to be a priest. He’s going to be a prophet. He’s going to be Malachi’s answer. I’m sending you Elijah. So, at this time when Israel was without a voice from God. The angel of the lord appears to Zechariah and says, your wife is going to have a child. She’s going to be pregnant. I won’t take time to tell you the story. You should know it. He is so in unbelief over this. He’s so stunned that an angel has gotten in to the sanctuary that he starts to talk like, how’s it possible? He’s actually ready to talk himself out of it and the angel silences him, takes his voice away and says, you’re not going to speak anymore until the miracle happens. Tells you something about the power of what you say and the operation of angels doing miracles. But that’s for another teaching.

The angel goes on to say, this child is going to be filled with the Holy Spirit while yet in his mother’s womb and he will turn many of the sons of Israel back to the Lord their God. It is he who will go as a forerunner before him, him, the Messiah. And what’s he going to arrive with in the spirit and power of Elijah. So, now we see the mystery of Malachi coming about. That God is going to send Elijah and is going to be the spirit on John the Baptist. One thing you need to know about the spirit of Elijah. Elijah comes but Elijah’s the only person that I know of in the Bible who actually shows up through different people. An anointing that comes upon different vessels and that’s important. Because before we’re done, I’m going to tell you that the spirit of Elijah is on you that the spirit of Elijah is on the body of Christ for what purpose. To prepare the way for the coming of the Lord.

John the Baptist with the spirit of Elijah was sent to prepare people so that the Lord would be able to come upon a highway of people and reveal his glory in his people. This is very profound but I want you to see it. He will turn the hearts. So, this Elijah anointing is going to be a heart-turning anointing. He goes to the forerunner in the spirit and power of Elijah to turn hearts of the fathers back to their children just as Malachi said, it’s a family recovery prophecy. It’s a prophetic anointing to restore family.

Now, how this ties up to America, I don’t have to tell you, I’m not reaching to do this. The new cycle now from what the left is doing. Which in many ways, I’m sorry to say is how the devil is working through the education mountain reaching the little Bobby and Susie and trying to get into their heads. The theories of equity or race theory. Marxist theories about identifying. People are not good and bad based upon their belief, their walk with God, whether or not they’re Christian, whether or not they’re saved, whether or not they’re righteous but based on their skin tone. Can you think of anything more in a sense stupidly situated than to say that you’re righteous based on the color of your skin?

And you’re evil based on the color of your skin. We have never had a theology this crazy but it’s been drank in the teacher’s colleges and is being represented in various ways to children. But then it doesn’t stop there. It’s got a whole wing of thinking about gender fluidity. Gender identity. What gender are you? Are you a male? Are you a female? We’re talking about a direct frontal attack on the family. Governor DeSantis kind of a Trumpian figure. You could not mistake as a Christian that the same ally mantle that is on the government when Trump would come in as a populist and bam, take that Samson club and start hitting to the left and hitting the right.

That same spirit is on Governor DeSantis. That Elijah mantle that comes upon secular leaders who God raises up and he. And right away he declares legislation about reaffirming the role of fathers. He comes against Disney who is endorsing and standing behind the ideology that wants to reeducate your sons and daughters regarding their sex, their gender, their values, and the iniquity of their skin and DeSantis says, stop. You’re in my jurisdiction in Florida. Notice something. When the spirit of Elijah comes upon you, you’re able to rise up within the sphere that God gave you and stand in the jurisdiction God gave you. And what the devil wants to do is remove you from that jurisdiction and bully you out to give him territory.

DeSantis is rise up saying, no. And I’m telling you this is part of the revival America, is turning the hearts of the parents back to their children and turning children to the protection of the family. Lest the nation gets hit with a curse. So, the other part of this anointing of John the Baptist which most people miss is, and I’m going to go to the King James Version because I think that King James, I got the American standard here. I got two Bibles, so, I’m twice as anointed. Alright, let’s go see what we got here. So, the spirit of Elijah comes down and on John the Baptist in chapter 1, verse 17, let’s read this together. You got a Bible with you? You ought to have one for a bible study. “He will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just. In order to prepare a people for the Lord.”

He will go before him to turn the disobedient to the attitude of the righteous is what it says in American standard, to the System of the just is what it says in King James. Both of these are talking about worldview. They’re not just talking about salvation to the Lord, is talking about the wisdom of the just and how the just how justice and how wisdom and how God actually orders society. This Elijah anointing is going to be a persuasion anointing that is going to push back on every theory that militates against the Word of God and is at war with the kingdom of God and is losing devils to destroy structures and people.

So, Elijah Baptist, John the Baptist rises up and the angel Gabriel is assigned to this task. And when Elijah’s born, he begins to grow and eventually he enters into his ministry. Now let’s take a look at the ministry of Elijah. Now, here’s my premise. We’re in a period of history where the United States is a Gentile Nation is beginning to be humble and brought down. We’re at the period perhaps of the of an era of transition. We see 1967 would be the triggering point of the fulfillment of Jesus prophecy that the Gentiles will trod underfoot Jerusalem. Jesus made it specific. Gentiles, Arab nations occupying Jerusalem until the time period ends. Then Israel begins to reoccupy Jerusalem, 1967.

That’s why Chuck Mishler one of the great teachers and prophetic insight people that I study Kim Clement turn me on though. But I didn’t know why he was, so into him until after Kim was dead and gone and I went back and said why was he talking a lot about Chuck Missler. Kim was right. now Missler says 1967 was the pivot point for Jesus’s prophecy. Jerusalem is no longer under the control of the Gentiles, it’s now under the control of the Jews. And it has sections of it that are run by Muslims, for sure. Islam has the temple dome there. Yes, but the city itself is a jurisdiction. When Trump made the move to move the embassy, it sailed it. This is the Capital for the Jews.

You see the significance of that in the spirit realm? In a sense it’s the signature on the prophecy of Jesus that this is the Jews now have Jerusalem, not the Gentiles. Strange that the great Gentile nation is starting to come down during that period. But I want you to see the connection. John the Baptist shows up in the 15^th year of Tiberius Caesar while Pontius Pilate is governor of Judea. I’m reading chapter 3. We have specific history here. We’re not talking about some kind of fairy tale or Aesop fable. We have confirmable dynasties rulership, government. We have coordinates on a map that pinpoint a period of time when this movement started. And John the Baptist came into all the district around the Jordan.

He’s preaching all over the place. He’s saturation bombing certain places and then he sets up his headquarters there at the Jordan River. He’s preaching, oh get this, a baptism of repentance from sin for the repentance for the forgiveness of sins. Repentance the forgiveness of sins. I remember when I was with Kim Clement who had the spirit of Elijah on him in a very conspicuous way. Used to love how he would get words of knowledge. He would get a word and that word would be preached but you know who came out to his meetings. Strangely enough, unsaved people by the scores.

I said to him, I said to him one day, I said, ‘You realize this John the Baptist anointing is an evangelism anointing.’ I’m always thinking of John the Baptist Spirit and power of Elijah as a prophet, prophet, prophet and yet the prophet was used to turn the nation back to the wisdom of the way God does things. Confronting the Pharisees, confronting the government. He takes on Herod. Confronting sin wherever it showed up. He wasn’t panic taking and walking around controversial issues, he was bam, bam, bam. Describing the wisdom of the just and the way that God thinks. And persuasively, culminating his message and you better get right with God. That the most important issue is your relationship with God. They came down to that baptism confessing their sins going to the water and coming out with a new covenant, a new release, a new, a move of God had begun. And what was the goal? To prepare a people for the coming of Jesus.

Do you think maybe that God is releasing the spirit of Elijah? Especially in America at this moment, and at the family is one of the reasons the catalyst of this thing is coming to the surface now. The family issue, children, parents, etcetera. Do you think I’m far off in saying that John the Baptist was an evangelism anointing to calls sinners to repentance? Not only way they’re thinking but in their ultimate priority, how they’re aligned with God himself. And they came to repentance and forgiveness of sins. That’s the evangelism call. When you hear the end-time billion-soul harvest talked about, it’s the John the Baptist Elijah prophet anointing, proclaiming the wisdom of the just and setting up salvation.

I believe that’s what’s going to be happening these meetings we’re doing. When I was with Mara Morella the other night, we saw 2500 people come down and then another 2000 come down the second night and we saw an arena packed out. People are coming out and they weren’t coming out to a pure evangelism meeting. They were coming out to what was our news broadcast flash point and from flash point we’ve been advertising the revivals of Mario. So, you’re seeing is 25% of the people are coming out for a political discourse that they know is God centered. They know we’re all men of God, but they’re coming out of curiosity the same way they went to John’s baptism. That’s the spirit of Elijah coming down on a move of God in America and it’s different. It’s controversial. Most people won’t touch it. That’s one of the ways I know it’s God.

Now, when this happened, it is done so that it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet. In other words, the scriptures now. The Holy Spirit comes upon Luke, the writer and says, when you’re writing this Luke, link it over to Isaiah. We got Malachi quoted earlier. Now, we’re going to go to Isaiah and what’s the Isaiah prophecy? Well, it’s the voice of one crying in the wilderness, make ready the way of the Lord, make his path straight. Every ravine will be filled, every mountain and hill will be brought low, the crooked will become straight, the rough road smooth, and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

Now, I want you to take that Greek language here and let’s go over to the original Hebrew, which is written there in we can find it there in the book of Isaiah. So, we’ll go to the Words of Isaiah and when we get over there, we’re going to go to Isaiah chapter 40. That’s where the footnotes taking me. Isaiah 40. You got your Bible. See it in your Bible. Get a pen out and here’s what the translation says, American Standard. ‘A voice calling clear the way for the lord in the wilderness. Make smooth in the desert a highway for our God. Let every valley be lifted up and every mountain and hill made low. Let the rough ground becomes plain and the rugged terrain a broad valley. And then the glory of the Lord will be revealed.’

And you know what I’m going to do? I’m going to stop right here because some people remember I had a teacher once told me you know there’s two hump camels and one hump camels and don’t give them two humps when you only have one. I’m going in the Bible rather deep and I don’t want you to lose what we’ve done so far. Because I’m going to build this to understanding the move of God that’s happening right now. It’s taking place in the earth. History is repeating itself. America has a unique destiny but God’s not finished with it. I want to show you what we’ve been doing so far.

The spirit of John the Baptist is the spirit of Elijah. The spirit of Elijah is upon you. This is what’s on the church right now. It’s coming upon the family mountain and it’s expanding in education. It’s mobilizing people in government but really, it’s the spirit of Elijah is upon John the Baptist. It’s upon the people that make ready a people before the coming of the Lord. That’s why this is the outpouring again of the same anointing and it’s really road It’s rough work. The analogy there is, hey, it’s like a highway. It’s like heavy equipment. It’s going to be noisy. It’s rough because God’s got to take the church, the house of God. He’s got to straighten out what isn’t straight. He’s got to smooth out what’s bumpy. He’s got to take down what’s too high and he’s got to build up what’s been neglected.

And as that roadwork goes on, it’s preparing a people. We are the highway. We find out in the next message; you’ll see that Jesus goes into Jerusalem on the garments of his people. It’s a level highway of God’s people where the glory is exhibited. It’s a highway that reveals Jesus. It’s not going to be a movement where individuals are going to be highlighted. It’s where Jesus is going to be exalted and it’s an anointing of evangelism. The thing that fascinates me is I haven’t seen this since the days I was with Kim Clement where the prophet actually draws out sinners who want to get saved.

It’s a unique kind of thing when the is, an evangelism anointing. We don’t see much of that these days but it’s in the John the Baptist anointing. It’s when the wisdom of the just is being revealed. I often think of this as being we’re so fixated on the gospel and signs and wonders. We don’t realize that we’ve got to answer the questions people have that aren’t being answered even in church. 94% of the questions people are asking are not addressed because they’re too controversial. So, we have to be able to dispense the wisdom of the just. You are part of this movement.

And I’m going to stop here and go next week into our supernatural Sunday part two, which is the spirit of the lord that is upon you. Which is the part two of this anointing that Jesus manifested, which is where the signs and wonders are going to come in. John strangely enough did no miracle. Jesus said it. He said, have you noticed John’s the greatest of all prophets? And he did no miracle. Why did he do a miracle? All of this was accomplished by the power of utterance and the visionary gift of the prophet. Then Jesus comes in contrast so nobody gets mixed up and boom, boom, boom, boom the supernatural is manifest.

It’s a two-part punch. It’s going to be this plus the signs and wonders. This is very exciting and I want you to be part of this. I never really move in this direction before but I realize we’ve got now arenas. We’ve got big meetings. We actually have to have the crew and the media that is going to the different parts of the country. I was willing to do this before but I feel like now is the harvest time. The zeal of the Lord is going to come into many of you that have been flagging and discouraged and disoriented. I’m telling you something.
