Today we’re going to be talking about the number one characteristic that I run into in people’s lives that prevents them from doing the thing they REALLY want to do. So often, people quit right before their breakthrough, and they stop because they’re not sure if they are supposed to be doing that thing in the first place. This episode is all about making you unstoppable to achieve your goals!
Episode Transcript
Lance: Hi, I’m Lance Wallnau. Welcome to the Lance Wallnau Show and today we’re going to be talking about the number one characteristic that I ran into in Christian’s lives that gets in the way of them being able to do the thing they really want to do. So many times, people quit. They quit right before the breakthrough. They quit because they’re not sure they’re supposed to be doing the thing in the first place. I’m dedicating this program to the theme of making you unstoppable. And the first of being unstoppable is being able to identify what it is that you’re saying to yourself that’s getting in the way of you going to where you want to go.
The whole battle for transformation according to the apostle Paul is right here. It’s in the renewing of the mind. The problem is your mind is in the origin of what’s happening. It’s down here. It’s your own personal history and how your emotional memories are actually causing you to come up with excuses or arguments or ideas that get in the way of where you want to go. Now, that’s not the real problem. The real is when you agree with what the devil is saying. So, we have a concept that we teach which is that your agreements are authorizing your experience. What you agree with in a sense gives permission for something to show up. And part of our focus in being unstoppable in this broadcast is to actually surface for you clarity and insight into what’s getting in the way of you right now.
In fact, I’ll bet that the next level you’re going to going to come with a package of totally new beliefs that are going to create a totally different identity. Because your agreements not only authorize your experience, they shape your perception of who you are. Well, I can’t do this. I can’t do that. I’m not good at this. I’m not good at that. Watch how quickly those ideas can change and watch how powerfully those changes when they take place release you to the next level of where you really want to go. You’ll enjoy this broadcast on becoming unstoppable.
Alright, so if you got a bible just one quick verse is coming to my mind. How many of you know that transformation could be a real thing, and how many of you have an expectation that really today you want to be able to break through on something? Alright, now I’m going to take all the responsibility off of me for this and put it on you. Because I am willing to do what’s necessary for your breakthrough, but I found two or three things to get in the way of people having profound breakthroughs. One is a lack of clarity. Just having a general sense of desperation about your life isn’t sufficient. You actually to know what you’re going to and know what you’re going from. And that means that you have to have the ruthless capacity to look at your past and say what agreements have I been making, beliefs have I been living with that I’ve empowered to be a neutralizing factor in my life.
Some of you are being, you’ll find yourself even more upset today than any other time. Because you’re in an atmosphere such pregnant potentiality speaking to things that are coming, forming, wanting to show up. And then of course what comes up is the narrative that is lodged in your memory about why you can’t do this. We don’t have to get into greedy gritty details but some of you have had sexual affairs and the devil comes up to you and says, well, you’re disqualified. Because every time you start to feel like you’ve got this high noble purpose. Well, what about that? And you’ve actually never been taught like Christianity 101. This is this is an important revelation. It comes right out of the gospels.
The cross is not a therapy program. It’s a death sentence. Christians spend their whole lives trying to go to the inner healing into the deliverance, into the counseling, into the memories, into the depths. I’m not saying this stuff isn’t true. I’ve seen it happen and it works. Because we hold on to things and we get deliverance from stuff that God has to reach into and help pull out. But understand that God’s verdict on human nature is that it is intensely self-oriented. And that without a miracle of transformation in the heart, it simply does not, we do not move with love, sacrifice, and the benevolence that is part of God’s racial design, the moral universe where we’re sacrificing, giving, caring people. It’s just not in us. We’re all cravingly self-absorbed. It’s the bent of the universe.
Every one of us wants to find our own unique fulfillment and so, the cross is God’s verdict. It is that in order for the past to be dealt with. We need a new beginning and so it’s a death sentence on the old nature, not a recovery program. So, when you actually discover that you’re a sinner at some point and you acted like one, remember, here’s what the verdict of the Bible is. That when he died, you died. When he was buried, you were buried. When he rose, you rose and that you won’t know the fullness of this until your mortal body is dissolved into some kind either in the fires of the ashes of somebody who gets incinerated or whether your body naturally decomposes.
When you die, there is a resurrection. This is the hope by the way that the apostle Paul had as a Jewish Rabbi. A resurrection of the just and the unjust is in the New Testament idea. It’s an Old Testament idea. It’s a Jewish idea that moral accountability means there’s an afterlife. When that moment comes when that moment of judgement comes as happens the Bible says, when Christ appears then those of you that are in him shall appear with him. And then you’ll find out your spirit man, your inner man is eternal, your body decomposes but your insides doesn’t. And you’ll be quick and in a moment of time boom and united with the resurrection body that goes with that new order. And you’ll realize something that throughout your whole life you are actually dead in Christ buried in him and living by his grace. Does that make sense to you?
So, what I’m saying is never let your personal history come up to you as an issue that disqualifies you from a future that God is showing you. Because from God’s perspective you’re already dead So, that’s how come I never had Kleenex in my therapy sessions, because I always helping people feel the issues in their life. I was helping them get clear in the fact that they’re struggling with something which they really need to put to death. Even behavior that moves in that direction. The Bible says, if you judge yourself, you shall not be judged. If there’s something moving in the wrong direction in your life, you have the authority to actually deliver a veto on it. You don’t have to live as a slave to anything. Does this make sense to you?
Now this disposition and knowledge is important because for many of you getting clear on what you’re leaving behind in DC. I thought of it today when I was in my room. My mind is always on you guys when we’re doing these programs. And I thought that probably tonight. Today we’re going to work on the I am statement. Because I want you to get really clear on who you are. Because you have to be the best friends you got. Remember this exercise yesterday or was it the day before yesterday where I said write down your top 3 to 5 friends? And then I asked you to go to the list and I said are you on the list? Most people don’t even Think of themselves as a resource.
Well, you got to be your own best friend. You have to take care of you. You have to take you by the hand and say, how are we dealing with this? So, here’s what I want you to catch. The I am statement is the statement about who God has called you to be. And for some of you, it’s going to be, who is the person you’re called to be that you haven’t been yet. By the way, here’s a quick tidbit. This is a great little coaching tip. When you’re making a decision that is extremely challenging. You’re feeling a lot of pressure, you ask this question. How would the person I most want to be handle this decision? How would the person I most want to be handle this moment? Because I guarantee, if you ask the question, how would the person I most want to be handle this moment of this decision, you’ll get moral clarity on what it is you ought to do and that’ll help you get clear in the jungle of the choices you’re making.
Break: When this product, this training, this particular seminar, workbook, and DVD series of 5 hours of content was put together, it was taken out of about 20 hours of intense experiential learning going on in Washington DC at the Trump Hotel in the ballroom. I just started to look over the material that we chose out of that intensive investment of time and energy and I believe what we have here can be the most powerful training module maybe I produce so far. I’ve trained tens of thousands of people. This is almost like the compression of a lifetime of focused transformational experience. For instance, do you know that 40% of your personality is operating in a realm called the Blind Spot. That means there’s some things about you that you may not know about you that other people can see about you. And blind spots aren’t always negative, they’re also positive.
If you can get into agreement with who God actually called you to be, if you can shatter the narrative that it comes up in your head when you’re under pressure and stress. If you could actually be able to formulate a statement of who you are so that you can that when you’re in the warfare of your life, you’ll begin to make some different choices that will have a radically different consequence in your life. I really put into this material, the content that I’ve seen make people breakthrough. You’ll want to get this and make the most important investment you’ve ever made in your life, an investment in your own breakthrough and become unstoppable.
It’s time for your life to be transformed. Get becoming unstoppable today. Go to “Lancewallnmau.com/unstoppable”. That’s “Lancenow.com/unstoppable”.
Lance: And I’m statement connects you with your heavenly identity. It doesn’t reference your past. And remember this just for the sake of being a little Pentecostal on this. One day I was saying, Lord well I’m not sure you could use me because of this or use me because of that. You know what the Lord said? This is so interesting. Anytime you can point to a sin or an iniquity that is so strong that it disqualifies you from my promises. You’ve exalted something above the power of the blood of Christ. So, the other side of this is if you really do have this dreadful thing, well, I actually did an abortion. I took a life and when I did it before I got saved or I did it after got saved but I was I was whatever it is, you’d be surprised. The devil is like so efficient. He’s like a perfect memory coach. Stuff that you forgotten about. He’ll remind you about right at the moment you want to step into greatness.
But just remember this, if that thing really keeps coming up and it keeps on hindering you, you just made the guessing mistake of exalting that over the authority of the blood of Jesus. I guess finally, we found something that’s stronger than the blood of Jesus. Well, what are we going to do with that? But that doesn’t exist anywhere but in your imagination your agreements shape. Your destiny, but let’s be honest about this. We need a movement that’s something more than just a whole lot of actualized Tony Robbins disciples. We need an anointing. We have to have God do this thing.
So, here’s the thing I was waking up with today which is so intriguing to me. Peter is with Jesus and remember what I said yesterday that Jesus got up three times when he was in the agony of the pressure of Gethsemane. Sometimes, I think we lose the romance with Yeshua, because we have to remember the Bible’s unique description of him is he’s the God man. But some of us make him so God that we have no connection with him as a suffering messiah. We don’t see him as a human being. He sweat. He was thirsty. He had all the limitations, the frailty of mortal flesh. That was part of his assignment. He had to live life as a human being identifying with us. He wasn’t always omniscient. He didn’t always know everything.
The Bible says, he perceived. He perceived as he walked in the situation, he had the perception necessary. When he was in Gethsemane it was kind of a beautiful moment of real connection with the humanity of Christ and it’s something you want to know about. Because his overcoming wasn’t because he was just like a Marvel superhero, just you know having a little battle there. He was experiencing the full forces of hell against fallen nature because he carried our physical bodies and his incorruptible spirit. The perfect of the two natures.
So, he falls down in the garden astonished, the Bible says in the Greek at what he sees he is dealing with. Because now sin and all of its monstrous depravity and ugliness is being unveiled to his comprehension and he is embracing, because he’s going to become a sacrifice for sin, he is experiencing it in all of its horror. Perfect holiness is now embracing total depravity wrapping itself around him and three times he gets up. Sweat mingled with blood on the capillaries bursting in his forehead, the Bible says. And he gets up and he goes to look at what. His disciples. Are you asleep? Why are you sleeping?
I don’t think we understand what’s happening unless you get this revelation. He was getting up to go once again look at why he was going back to do this. You need to have a why that is bigger than the price you pay. Whatever your destiny is, having that company that changes the world and dominating my market with, I’m in my athletic socks. Well, that’s not bad. I mean, that’s probably the business man call you’ve got but at a core level, why? And I’m saying with our model with the 7 mountains, with 7M, it’s because when God gives you sphere preeminence, he gives you authority. He gives you a platform to shape the thinking of other people in the sphere that you’re at.
It’s where you preach your values, your vision, and where you have access to change other people’s lives. You need a why. In Jesus case, the why was you. It was your destiny went to the disciples. He looked at them and then he went back in and he looked at them and he went back in three times and then he was worried about them. He said, wake up. Wake up, man, pray. This is going to be, this is going to be a rough weekend for you. Don’t sleep in late. Get up. What’s the matter with you, Peter? And Peter…
Now, Peter had natural zeal but he really did not have awareness of his own constraints and this is what else I want to talk to you about. I’m praying to God that God gives you a clue as to why it is that you have, let me put this. Do you know how many of us? I it happens in the hall right here but I don’t want you to think I’m talking about you right now but many of you already done it. You tell me about the terrible choices you’ve made that screwed up your life and then you add this caveat and you know the Lord did that because he was teaching me that I couldn’t live my life without him. No, the Lord didn’t do that. You did that. God isn’t leading you into stupid decisions. You can discover how stupid you are. You know what I’m talking about?
Human nature it’s a built-in cellular need to explain everything and this is why false religions, the bound of my science, mocks spirituality. Because when the thunderstorm, the Gods are angry because they don’t understand anything about electricity. So, when something bad happens to people, it’s always, well, the Lord was doing this. The Lord was teaching me this and here’s what God was doing.
I remember one time it just occurred to me. I had and everyone, everyone Whether they know it or not is like a Stephen Spielberg, a director of the drama of their own personal history. Everyone has an explanation for the first marriage or the second marriage or the boyfriend or this and I should you know the truth that matter is almost everything you have in life is a byproduct of a choice you made. Well, they did that to me. I didn’t do that to them. But you had a choice in how you responded. And to this day you’re still like upset and bitter and possessed with a story. Here’s a red flag for you.
Anything that comes out of your mouth that diminishes your personal power, your personal strength, your personal capacity is a disempowering belief system. It’s a lie. Anything that takes away from your capacity to be resourceful, resilient, and responsible is a lie. To the degree that you’re a victim of what someone else did to that degree, you don’t have authority to change the future, because it’s like saying, well, I think you got the point. You have to own your own mistakes, your own personal history. A lot of the things that happen to us has happened because what’s the number one thing? We perish, my people perish for lack of knowledge. As the Bible says, that’s the Old Testament prophets. Why do we perish? Lack of knowledge. With all thy getting, get what? Get wisdom. Get knowledge. Saves you a lot of pain. This makes sense?
So, I want you to think about what’s the constraint in your life that plays itself out in your personal history that gets in the way of your future? I’m going to tell you, right. I can tell you a real simple grid if you want to find because we’re really not objective in this search. Very seldom in the mistakes in our life. Are we the one that we’re blaming? But I can remember how one day the Lord said I was telling people about how our first church split, then our second church this happened, and then I gave my church over this other person. He’s betrayed me and it’s like oh my God you talk about trauma 20 years pastoring, probably I was supposed to be a pastor 10 years, but I didn’t know when to stop. I was trying to get it right.
Break: What you’re getting right now is just a fraction of the 5 hours of in-depth content and material that we handed out as a workbook for our students and our clients. But I’m you to be able to get access to that. I want you to get all of the training, the workbook, and be able to experience the breakthrough moments with other people as they were delivered live in this training. Now, one of the things I’m thinking about right now that you want to look at is what do you say to yourself and how do you recalibrate your decision making when you’re in the moment of uncertainty and fear or hesitancy. Being unstoppable means that you want to have an I am identity statement.
You’re going to be able to practice a new identity upgrade where you’re going to literally be able to say to yourself, this is who I am. This is who I’m not and you begin to move in the direction of being unstoppable with your real identity. That’s the kind of life-changing power that comes with the right kind of focus. And believe me, it took me about a decade and a half of research and training and attending other kinds of transformational workshops to come up with this life-changing content. For all I know, this could be the moment when you need to be unstoppable.
It’s time for your life to be transformed. Get becoming unstoppable today. Go to “Lancewallnau.com/unstoppable. That’s “Lancewallnau.com/unstoppable”.
Lance: And we, Annabelle and I had these nightmare stories. One day I realized, wait you know what? When that happened, this person gave me bad advice. But they weren’t in this chapter this other person gave me bad advice and it’s like the Lord showed me something. Because we had a daycare and, in the daycare, we had a refrigerator in our church and the refrigerator we have one of those cool, those whip thing whipped cream things, dispense when you push the nozzle down the whip cream comes out.
Well, suddenly everybody’s up in arms because there’s a thief in the daycare. I go what, there’s thing there’s items missing and there was. We had security items missing we had somebody was stealing stuff from our daycare and we had a big day here, it’s how I funded the church. We had a whole program for taking care of kids and babies. I said, we’re going to catch the thief. We’re going to put the monitoring cameras up. And sure enough, we had those monitoring cameras up, and we started because I’m going to see who’s stealing the security equipment, the headphones, and that stuff. My deacons come in one night, they say, you’ll be shocked when you find out who we have on film. I have one of my favorite deacons.
One of the sweetest guys you ever met. But I was a little bit worried about him because I was noticing his eyes were pink when I saw him. And I’m a discerning fellow and I said that, there is a drug user. I see those pink eyes. That’s clearly marijuana. So, I talked that away. I said, Lord just going to have to confirm it to me because I really love Bob. I got to tell him. Got to step down, but I’d have counselling, I can’t believe, we all love Bob. Then they said, Pastor we’ve got the person on film. I said, who is it? It’s Bob. I go, Aha. Pink eyes. Drug use. What was he stealing? I see it now. I got the story. They said, well, actually it’s not that. He’s at the refrigerator. And you see Bob looking this way. Open refrigerator. Grabs one of those cream things. Goes up.
Poor Bob, I have him coming. Bob, we’ve had theft I said we’ve had massive theft we have a thief I got thousands of dollars of equipment’s been stolen. He doesn’t know about that I’ve got the secret cameras. I said, and then we finally caught someone. A big disappointment to me but then it was all explained when I thought of the pink eyes. He’s looking at me. He said, ‘Bob, the thief is you.’ He goes, ‘Pastor, what? What?’ I said, ‘Watch this, Bob.’ We put the video on. He goes, ‘It’s true. It’s true. After we take the offering, I run back there. I just love that cream. Pastor, I apologize, I know I let you down and go.’ ‘It’s not that Bob. It’s the rest of the equipment. What you do with it? What equipment? The equipment. By the way, what’s with the pink eyes?’ He goes, ‘I know. I know. It’s the chlorine. I swim before I come to church.’
You’re telling me that if that’s what you’re doing, that’s it. He goes, ‘I’m so ashamed of myself.’ Well, ‘Bob, let’s not let that happen again.’ ‘Thanks for the second chance, pastor.’ That’s alright. That’s what we do here. We had these security cameras here. Moments like this and we never did find out who the thief was but I knew it wasn’t Bob. I created a story. I created a story and then one day, the Lord saying, okay, let’s go back over those high-level meetings you have with those other pastors where you talk to them about. Then this guy split the church and I brought this guy on staff and they stole the money and then this guy came in here, right.
It was a nightmare and it’s like, I had four or five different pictures of my mind. You know what the lord said? He reminded me of Bob Mattio. Lord said, ‘Who was at the scene of each of those crimes? I said, ‘Well, Richard was at that one and that one but he wasn’t at this one. You know, it wasn’t as Bernadette was at this one.’ Of course, I was at all 3 but, silence. I was in heaven’s video recorder at the scene of every crime in my life. Every stupid thing that ever happened to me, I somehow was at the scene of the crime. And I realized that when I was telling people you’ll notice this. This Jordan Peterson thing. Stop saying things that make you weak. Every time you enter into telling people about your sob story. ‘God’s teaching me something. Oh, what they did to me. You won’t believe what they did to me.’
So, every you’ll notice every time you go there you have released something of your personal power. You surrendered responsibility for the choices you that put you in the situation or the choices you made that kept you in the situation or the choices you made after the situation. Including the choice to cast yourself as a victim with no responsibility in the cosmic education process of God setting you up for failure to make you more saintly. Everyone creates stories because human nature, fallen, primitive, and modern has to have a narrative. This is the danger what’s happening in America.
Narratives are being taught every day by masterminds who are utilizing anger, rage, and discontent along with division to create compelling people movements that will disrupt systems that God put for your blessing to produce an anarchy with the new people in power. All built off of false narratives, and that’s why you’ve got to rise up and have answers to tell the truth in the face of lies. You have to do it from the occupied territory of your own seat, your own sphere of influence. This making sense to you?
I started with Peter because Peter just has the natural zeal sort lord if everyone else betrays you, I’m not going to betray you. If everyone else leaves you I’m not going to leave you. So, Peter says to Jesus though everyone else denies you I won’t deny you. One characteristic of a dominant constraint is it’s in a blind spot. You all know what a blind spot is. It’s the thing that you don’t know about you, but your wife knows about you. Your kids knows about you. Your employees know about you. The devil knows about you. God knows about you. You’re the only one evidently doesn’t know about this.
But then circumstances always show up to reveal a blind spot because life is ruthlessly consistent. It’s the force of nature. It gives you feedback all the time. It gives you feedback all the time. That’s why you look for models and you look for mastery. You look for people that are getting stuff done right because somehow, if they get done right then they’re modeling something. Now, if they’re a model of mastery and a mentor, they can explain to you what they did but have you ever noticed some people are doing it and can’t explain what they did? It’s fascinating. I’ve been around people, I watch them do stuff and when I try to get them to, I’m asking them to decode what they did. They’re lousy at decoding it because then I realized they’re doing it but they’ve never fully analyzed what it is they’re doing that’s working.
My goal for you and in this program is to provide you with a very subtly, because I’m not even telling you. Here’s a model. Here’s a master. Here’s someone who’s doing it right. Watch what they’re doing or watch somebody who is in the process of learning how to expand their mastery.
Well, I hope you enjoyed this particular episode and you know the main thing is in life to pay the price to be who you’re called to be. You need a why, you need one person said to me recently, you need a why that makes you cry. Something that so strong it’ll pull you through the hesitancy and the fear of what we try to stop you and I want you to stay in touch with us and watch the other episodes and in fact get the entire teaching. And you can do that on “Lancewallnau.com/unstoppable”. “Lancewallnau.com/unstoppable”. I’m looking forward to hearing from you and talking to you in the future.
