So, we have 1 AM and for those of you that are watching this on Daystar. Now, you probably got a little insomnia. I have an insomnia Bible teaching. It literally is a chapter in the Bible on one time Godkept someone awake because he was going to do some in their life and I’m going to believe right now is your moment. We’re going to the Book of Esther. Grab the book of Esther. This is the Lance Wallnau show. Every week we do a deep dive on what God is saying and sometimes we take the prism of world events. But you know what I found out about world events? People have a tendency to get under the weather when they’re experiencing those pressures but you don’t have to have that kind of because the spirit of God wants you to rise up above the circumstance and not be under the circumstance.

So, therefore, we’re going to start right now with I think the best way is to recognize the spirit of God is over us. In all things, the Lord is over us. God is actually covering us and that’s the reason why worship and prayer is so powerful. I mean, we don’t really have, if you’re waiting for just worship when you got your music group playing or when you go to church on Sunday, you’rewaiting too long. You have to be able to get into the presence of the Lord. Bam. When you want to and to do that, you got to discover the ancient Christian art of singing to yourself with Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. Singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord because what that does is it harmonizes you in heaven.

Therefore, lately, I find that when I get oppressed, I look at the things that are happening in Washington. I look at the things that are happening around the world. And then I do a news analysis and I say, oh God, is there any change that’s happening? The Lord says, everything’s right on schedule what gets your attention gets you. You know what gets my attention? The power of the blood of Jesus. See we’re going to go up now you can feel the presence of the Lordis going to start to breakthrough for you. Oh father, and I think about the great hymn writers of the 1700s especially, they wrote some great ones Wesley and Augusta’s Top Lady. Just today I was thinking about this Rock of Ages cliff for me. Let me hide myself in thee. Let the water and the blood from my wounded side which flowed. Be it sin the double cure. Think of the theology here.

Save from wrath, yet make me pure. Rock of ages collect for me. Let me hide myself in thee. Let the water and the blood from my wounded side which flowed. Be it sin the double cure. The double cure. Safe from wrath yet make me pure. Think about that. Because they celebrated the fact that no amount of work you do is going to be able to earn the peace of God. It’s freely given because of the work he’s already done. Could my tears forever flow. And my Zeal no longer know. This for sin could not atone. Jesus sings it’s him alone and in my hand no price I bring. Simply to your cross I cling. They didn’t have long lifespans then. Not like today. And so, they thought a lot about death. They thought a lot about heaven. And they built it into their hymns. When I draw my final breath and my eyes close in my death. And when I ride to world know that, and I behold Jesus on his throne. The rock of ages clap for me. I will hide myself in the. And let the anointing of the Holy Spirit flow over you. Lord, I pray for everyone troubled, everyone afflicted, everyone agitated, to join in the symphonies of heaven now. O Lord, you’re beautiful. Your face is all that I see. For when your eyes are on this child, your grace it abounds to me.

I pray in Jesus’ name. you’ll teach us Lord how to rise above and see what’s happening on the earth from a throne room perspective. That’s tonight’s message. Accessing the throne. In the name of Jesus. Accessing the throne. Throne room grace, throne room power. And when you find yourself under the circumstances go back over the circumstance back up in the spirit. That’s what I recommend you do. We’re going to go to the book of Esther. The story which really talks about the scepter of Esther. I’m going to be teaching from this series here the scepter of Esther how to access throne room power and it’s a companion to this book called the Billy Graham Prophecy. And because the Billy Graham prophecy is about his death at the Feast of Purim and what is prophetically the significance of one era ending and a new era beginning and it very much applies to the battle that the believers had then with a hostile world around them.

Want you to go to Lancewallnau.com/Courage and get this message tonight and we’re going to talk about that right now. Just go to that book of Esther. If you got a Bible you want to go there, I really recommend you do these Bible studies with me. It’s amazing. Amazing. What comes to you when you take your pen and you start to write and underline with me. So, this takes place roughly 465 BC. Now, what’s taken place at this time is the prophet Jeremiah’s prophesied 70 years of captivity and everybody wants to hear good prophecies. Reason why some prophets get stuck in pits is they don’t prophesy what Pentecostals want to hear. I say, O Lord, please, I want to be a Jeremiah prophet. He prophesied what nobody wanted to hear. He prophesied 70 years captivity and after that, you’ll be delivered, you come back and you’ll reestablish your presence here.

Well, Jeremiah’s prophecy helped Daniel. Daniel, the great intercessor praying. He’s going through the Bible searching the prophecies of Jeremiah. A contemporary. He’s looking at the prophecies and he’s reading what this other prophet wrote and he got a revelation. It’s time and then he didn’t sit back and go, well, enough, God said it, God‘s going to do it. He said, man, if God said it, I’m going to have to make sure it’s pushed in prayer. This is something very important for you. When God gives you a promise, make sure you birth the promise. Birth it in your spirit and then make sure you birth it in the peace that comes with knowing it’s going to happen. Charles Finney the great evangelist said that he’d be weighed down with souls of men and he knew that he would pray and pray and he prevailed when the peace of God came on him,he knew he won. And it was a matter of time before that person got saved. Think about that. How peace tells you when your prayer has prevailed and you have the witness in yourself that the matter is settled.

So, Esther is a story about believe it or not disobedient Jews. You see Jeremiah prophesied you’re all going to go back and when the time came to go back and Cyrus is raised up and he makes a decree and he says, go back your land. Go back to your country. And when he does that,he says I want the Jews to return and only a remnant went. You know why everybody else was comfortable where they were. 70 years they got property they got they built the house they got a job they got a family and where they’re going is unhospitable. I mean it’s occupied by angry Arabs and everything’s been like taken over they got to go back and this little remnant got to go back and fight to rebuild from the rubble. Well, they took up an offering and sent them away. Here’s the interesting thing. People miss this.

Esther’s the story of how those who didn’t listen to the prophet end up not hearing a prophet. They have to read God in circumstances because the prophet isn’t in Esther. You don’t see a prophecy in Esther. You don’t see a prophet in Esther. They’re in where? Israel. Haggai, Zechariah. The prophets are prophesying up a storm down there. No prophecy in the where you’re not supposed to be, but God‘s going to use the situation to the advantage of the kingdom. Now, watch what happens. They’re disobedient. They’re there for various reasons. I mean Nehemiah and Ezra are there. They’re going to come taggling along later. But what I’m saying is the persecution that comes in the Book of Esther is largely because God is going to do something in the land where the Jews were staying in Babylon because they weren’t moving on with the move of God like the other group but they’re all connected. Sometimes the church is like that. You may get mad at people. Well, why aren’t they involved with the same stuff I’m involved? Well, well, God is God. You’re going to have to allow him to sort it out. You just got to be where God called you.

Now, what makes Esther a controversial book is the fact that God‘s name is never mentioned. Now, this is really wild. Luther argued that this book should be removed from the Bible. He didn’t believe it was in the Canada scripture and Luther that that rough German that he was, he said, ‘No, the scriptures are the word of God but not every book in here passed my test. There’s one I got a problem with. I think had a problem with James also in the New Testament. He called it the straw epistle because it focused so much on works. He had a problem with it. Interesting, huh? And he said, God isn’t mentioned. This is extra biblical like the book of Enoch or first and second Maccabees and all that stuff.

So, I want you to go back here and see this God is in here, but here’s the point. Esther is the story of the hidden God because he wasn’t prophesying. He was moving through circumstances and sometimes God seems hidden from you. You’re looking for a prophetic word. Something’s going to happen and God‘s revealing himself in the situation. He’s prophesying through the situation. Just like the Billy Graham prophecy. He’s laying in the Capitol Rotunda during the feast of Purim. It’s a hidden prophecy. How like God to tie this in with the Bible.

So, we start with the beginning. Go to chapter 1. There’s a feast and the king, the king Ostiarieshere is a he’s a pretty wild king. I mean, one point there’s a story in the Bible which is where one of his generals was wanting his son to be relieved from having to go on a military mission.Because he was concerned for his welfare and the king was so enraged, this is terrible. He cut the kid in half and made his armies march with the two halves to let everyone in his empire know that when it came time for military service, there was no favors done by the king nor any of his officers, everyone fought. This isn’t a guy to trifle with and this is the reason why Esther took her life in her hands when she would choose to appear before him without the protocol of an extended scepter.

So, the way this would work is the king would let’s say this is the scepter. The king would extend the scepter and then you had access to. If he didn’t extend the scepter to you dare not enter the king’s presence. And if you ever walked in unannounced, it could be for you because you violated the protocol of the king’s court. It’s important for you to know because the scepter of Esther is a symbol for the favor of God extended from the throne of God to you. For the Jewish people, it’s very important. God will extend his favor and I’m going to talk to you about how you access the throne of grace and how the favor of God extends to you so that you can access.

Well, first of all, the king is having this great party and everyone’s drinking and they’re celebrating. While they’re all having a great time, the king decides to bring his queen out, Queen Vashti and she has a feast going on for the women, the wives of the nobility. Now she was the most beautiful woman in the kingdom and the king wanted her to come out and appear before his men, all of his friends here and his rowdy guy party. And he said, so for the queen and have her dress herself up and come out and be on display so they could see my beautiful wife and she refused to come. She refused. I don’t know. She didn’t want to be gawked at by all his drunk friends. I don’t know what the issue was but she refused and the king was furious, but this is a guy that kills and now he’s been embarrassed in front of all of his court. So, the king said to the wise men who understood the times, what should be done and they said that those that had access to the king’s presence. They said, let a search be done in the kingdom and let someone else be raised up to take Queen Vashti’s place. Vashti means beautiful.

So that he says, I will make a decree. Now this is important because the decrees that come from this king are going to be a decree later that all the Jews be killed. Now once a decree goes forth from the throne. What’s interesting is you can’t rescind it. You can’t say rewind that tape and bring it back. It’s a spiritual principle. Once the word of the throne is going forth, it establishes itself. The only thing that can change it would be another decree that honors the first decree. So,what you’re going to see is later on the king is seduced by Haman, a type of antichrist. I talked about last week 10 signs that Haman represents the end time antichrist. Right on down to having ten sons like the antichrist raises up ten kings and that there he rises up suddenly out of nowhere. He reigns for three and a half years just like the antichrist is in his great power for three and a half years. And then ten sons are suddenly killed, Haman wiped out dealt with swiftly. Rises up out of nowhere into prominence and power and persecutes the people of God. Spirit of antichrist.

Let me go into this as a search is being made for replacement. This is a warning. The Bible says,“Hold fast your crown lest another take it”. Vashti could be without much exegetical slaughter to the text could be a type of the disobedient believer who is summoned by the king to do something and who chooses not to do. This happens all the time. The church in the last days could be the church that falls away would be the church that will not answer the summons to sacrifice. Esther will be summoned and Esther will be required to make a great sacrifice even risking her own life. But the favor of God is on you for a purpose. Not just on you a blessing but on you for a divine reason. And the more Pharaoh you have, the more the hidden hand of providence is at work to position you in the right place to do the right thing at the right time. Vashti refused to respond to the king and so Vashti lost her crown and it was given to another.

Now, Esther was among others in competition for the role of the new queen. So, she was a young woman lovely and beautiful. It says in verse 7 chapter 2. When her father and mother died,Mordecai took her as his own daughter. It’s interesting to me how orphaned believers or orphaned people are often rising to great prominence. Jesus as you know his natural father wasn’t there at some point. Moses had to be given up by both parents and put into a basket in the Nile.Esther loses both of her parents. And you could say that, those of you that have lost a parent, those of you that are without a parent, those of you who are in that kind of a situation being orphaned in one way or another, look at it from the biblical perspective, it releases extra grace upon you. And if you respond properly to God, a greater favor shall come to you.

Well, Esther goes to Mordecai, she submits herself to him and Mordecai becomes kind of a symbol in the Bible. I’m going to show you in a minute of how the government of God works and how we’ll see that he will eventually be the prime minister. Mordecai as an elder among the Jews will eventually be the prime minister of the nation. This shows you how the church and the government, the government and the church actually have a relationship. We want to get away from government. We want to curse government. God says, no you’re supposed to be involved with it. You’re supposed to be in proximity to the throne not fleeing from it and God promoted Esther to proximity to government. So, she has obtained favor of the Lord. The young man pleased the custodian of all the women. Verse 9 says, “She obtained favor”.

The word favor will appear over and over and over again in my study because favor is the attraction of God to you that releases the supernatural influence through you, so that the divine attractions come towards you that will accomplish God‘s assignment through you. Favor is always related to a divine assignment. So, she obtains favor and she actually wins the competition. Why is that? So, Esther in verse 16 was taken to King Ahasuerus into the Royal Palace in the 1o0th month which is the month of Tabeth in the 7th year of his reign. And the king loved Esther more than all the other women for she obtained Race and favor in his sight. There’s a reason why this favor word folks is El Favor. Remember a guy at a boat in New Jersey. I saw he had the name El Favor in the back of the boat.

So, now we find what happens is we move to the next verse here. This is going to be, I want to get this quick shift over here because Haman arises suddenly. Mordecai is sitting at the king’s gate in verse 19. He’s involved with government. Mordecai sits at king’s gate where decisions are made and he is representing governing over the Jewish people at this point”. And after these things in chapter 3 verse 1, “The king promotes Haman, the Agagite and he sets the seat above all the princess. This is where the antichrist spirit is. This is how suddenly lawlessness can be exalted in a nation. Got a whole month of pride going on in June. You got transgenders. It’s like where all this come from. Yeah, no kidding. Something suddenly rises up and it’s hostile to you. It’s spiritually out for you. “So, Haman expected that all would bow before him. Then the king’s servants were in the king’s gate said to Mordecai, “Why aren’t you bowing before Haman?”. And Mordecai refused to bow to Haman.

I’m going to show you something interesting. Who you bow to and who you pray for are two different things. You see, when you’re required to do what is in violation of your faith, you do not bow. You stand in Holy Spirit courageous defiance of that which compromises your integrity. And he refused to bow. “So, Haman in verse 6, sought to destroy all the Jews all of them because they didn’t embrace honoring him. So, in the first month which is the month of Nissan on the 12thyear of King Ahasuerus, they cast the lot and it’s called a purr. They cast the lot before Haman. To determine the day and the month in which they would annihilate the Jews. Get what was going on here. The Antichrist will operate in witchcraft. This is an occult ceremony. All the friends of this Haman are there. Oh, blah, blah, blah, they’re doing whatever mumbo jumbo they got. Then they cast the lot to give them the divine day for the destruction of all the Jews. Doing it with the principality giving the date. So that you’re seeing the conspiracy with the unseen realm. But what happens here is while this is going on the battle is happening in the heavens.

So, I want you to see what’s going on here. When Mordecai learned all that had happened being tore his clothes put on sackcloth and ashes and went as far as the front of the king’s gate. And he was in fasting and weeping and wailing”. So, his response was, when he had understood that they were going to be destroyed, he wasn’t quiet but he stood in the place of repentance deeply distressed. He wasn’t indifferent. It was, well God will take care of it he identified with the threat. You see, I think this is something which we need to understand. We should be moved with a new sense of urgency regarding what is happening we could pray. Jesus was heard because he prayed with loud cries and tears unto him that was able to save him from death and so he was heard.

Now, the story as it unfolds is the story of the work of God providentially. There was a conspiracy to kill the king. Now, if you were Mordecai and the king had just appointed as Haman and this king was a foreigner, you might say, well, good riders, kill the king. Then, Hamans becomes the king. Mordecai said, no, no, no. He said, you know what? My responsibility is to this king to pray for him and so when he hears about a plot to kill the king, he reveals it and saves the king’s life. Mordecai’s intercession enabled him to have inside information on how the devil was going to work in the administration to kill the king. What I want you to see is this, Mordecai refuses to cooperate with the conspiracy. He exposes it and this goes to a principle which I think is rather important for us to get to and I want you to go to Colossians chapter 3verse 23. What you do, do it heartily as to the Lord and not to man. Knowing that from the Lordyou receive the reward of the inheritance for you serve the Lord Christ”.

In other words, whatever you’re doing do with an eye to God and not to man. Because it’s the Lord himself that you’re working for. Haman was looking at God not at and he was realizing he got the plot he had to expose it and save the king’s life. Now that night, for those of you that have insomnia, watch this one. Chapter 6 verse 1. That night, the king could not sleep and so one was commanded to bring the book of the records of the Chronicles. And it was written what Mordecai had done, and he had told the king’s eunuchs about a plot to kill him. And the king said, was anything done for this guy? They said, no. He said, well, what an honor should be done. We should have done something.

Look at what God did. God gave the king insomnia to remind him of someone he needed to bless and I want to tell you something right now. If you’re struggling with sleeplessness, ask the Lordto meet with you in the night season and show you who to pray for and to intercede for. Because Mordecai, the next day Haman comes in. Haman says, ‘What’s the king want to do.’ The king says, I want to honor someone.’ Haman thinks it’s him. He says, ‘What should I do for a great man?’ He says, ‘Well, everybody proclaim that he a great man. So, the king says, ‘Yeah, you Haman do it. Put Mordecai on your horse and lead him through the city and proclaim. Thus, shall the Lord bless the man who serves him. This is an omen that God will make your enemies praise you at the gates. Remember you want to get the scepter of Esther with the Billy Graham prophecy. And you want to do that at Lancewallnau.com/Courage. And I’m going to see you again at our next broadcast.
