First Lady Melania Trump Undergoes Kidney Surgery | Journal News
Journal News: Melania Trump was in the hospital today for a procedure to treat a benign kidney condition done at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland. Her surgery has marked the first time since 1987 that a first lady has undergone a serious procedure while in the White House. Former First Lady Nancy Reagan had undergone a masectomy while her husband, President Ronald Reagan, was still in office.

Trump’s communications director, Stephanie Grisham, said in a statement Monday afternoon that the first lady underwent an embolization procedure to treat a benign kidney condition at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland. “The procedure was successful and there were no complications,” Grisham said.
