Tucker Carlson’s recent interview with Tristan Leavitt, president of Empower Oversight and a lawyer for an FBI whistleblower, delved into the weighty matter of whistleblower documents. These documents, which were the focal point of their discussion, hint at a troubling reality––the FBI potentially operating as a politicized police force. A copy of those memos was made available to Just The News.
The documents reportedly show that the FBI has been targeting individuals based on their political views, such as their support for former President Donald Trump, their stance on the Second Amendment, and their opposition to COVID mRNA shot mandates. This has led to the revocation of security clearances for some individuals.
What’s more, the interview revealed a stark contradiction. Despite mounting evidence of political bias within the FBI, Republicans in Congress have recently approved the allocation of hundreds of millions of dollars for a new FBI headquarters. This move has not escaped criticism, with some viewing it as a questionable ‘reward’ for the FBI’s alleged actions.
Leavitt sent a letter on behalf of his client to the FBI stating, “Our client makes this protected whistleblower disclosure to you based on the reasonable belief that the FBI violated the First Amendment not only in this case but likely on a systemic basis in many others. Last summer, Empower Oversight provided you with evidence that purging the FBI of employees with certain disfavored views appears to be a goal articulated by the Deputy Director. Now, this new evidence raises a reasonable suspicion that the FBI is methodically abusing the security clearance process as a pretext to achieve that goal.” The documents are said to be a potential “tipping point” for Congress to overhaul the FBI and its personnel. They suggest that political considerations are evident in security clearance determinations, which is a concerning development.
