Elon Musk spoke briefly via video call during this week’s World Government Summit held in Dubai. According to the event’s site, the theme of the summit was “held under the theme of ‘Shaping Future Governments.’ The Summit will bring thought leaders, global experts and decision makers from around the globe to share and contribute to the development of tools, policies, and models that are essential in shaping future governments.”
Musk addressed the audience, saying, “I know this is called the ‘World Government Summit,’ but I think we should be a little bit concerned about actually becoming too much of a single world government.”
“If I may say, we want to avoid creating a civilizational risk by having — frankly, this might sound a little odd — too much cooperation between governments.”
While speaking, Musk compared the modern day to the fall of Rome and the rise of Islamic arts and sciences, stating their separate societies allowed human progress to continue.
Musk explained, “While Rome was falling, Islam was rising, so you had a caliphate doing well while Rome was doing terribly. And that ended up being a source of preservation of knowledge and many scientific advancements.”
“So I think we need to be a little conscious of being too much of a single civilization because if we are too much of a single civilization, then the whole thing may collapse,” he continued.
In addition to the point that “one world government” takes away power from the family and the community, it also leads to oppression and corruption on a scale never before seen in human history.
