BLM & Anti-Gun Activist Quintez Brown Arrested

Louisville Kentucky mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg (D) was shot at in his office on Monday, allegedly by Black Lives Matter and anti-gun activist Quintez Brown. According to Greenberg’s press statement, he was in his office meeting with several others when a young man entered with a gun. After greeting him, Greenberg was shot at several times, one of which grazed his sweater. The shooter fled the scene and was later caught by Louisville Metro police. Thankfully no one was hurt in the shooting.
Greenberg is one of three Democrats running in a highly contested race against two Republican candidates.
The shooter was later identified as Quintez Brown. Brown has been in the spotlight a few times.
He made headlines on June 19th, 2021, when he was reported missing; he was later found on July 1st. According to reports by his family, there were concerns for his mental health.
The young Brown has been in the news before this as well. He was one of several guests in 2018 on MSNBC and interviewed by former host Joy Reid.

Brown advocated for gun control as part of the March For Our Lives rally.
Several well-known leaders have championed Brown, including Reid, Obama, and Reverend Al Sharpton.

Brown was charged late Monday with attempted murder and four counts of wanton endangerment. He has since pled not guilty to the charges.

Brown, a former intern and editorial columnist for The Courier-Journal, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Tuesday, where a judge set his bail at $100,000.

So far, police have not offered a motive for the shooting. Still, speculation abounds on social media, linking Brown’s arrest to his activism and affiliation with racial justice organizations such as Black Lives Matter and Black Nationalism.

Information found on Brown’s social media accounts, tez4liberation, as well as a recent letter titled “A Revolutionary Love Letter” called for activism as well as radicalization, although not with actual specifics.
