I met with Mike Pence after the election and he told me the consultants he worked with (Karl Rove?) insisted that there was no proof that voter fraud was sufficient enough to change the outcome. I believe he was wrong. That doesn’t make him evil but it does make him the wrong man in a firefight. I say this because we, in our tribe, can’t be like our opposition and see the world and other people in an “all or nothing” or “all good/all bad” light. People are complex and any honest Christians knows they’re still a work in progress. Trump himself concluded that Barr end Pence were not up to the courage challenge. That’s a good way to see it. Trump is a good man. Not perfect, but superior to his critics.
Pence would have been a good leader in a more tranquil time. He wrote a powerful summary of what is happening in Afghanistan.
