Are you fighting against this spirit?

Welcome to the Lance Wallnau Show and it’s a special episode of the Daystar version of what we do which is means that it’s going to be on at 1 o’clock in the morning. Now, others are going to be watching this at various hours of the day, but this I think about you folks that are up at one o’clock in the morning and I think, you know what? You’re probably up because something might be keeping you awake. I want to suggest you something. I discovered years ago. This may sound very strange. Insomnia is a characteristic of spiritual attack. My wife just said to me this week. She said to me yesterday, do you know that the number one health intervention you can have when you get older is oxygen and sleep that the more sleep that you have, the more your brain detoxes. 

Now, she’s probably dropping a hint on me because I’m a late-night person. So, she said, I want you to focus more on good quality sleep. Now, your wife’s talking to you saying good quality sleep and brain detoxing. I thought, well, that’s important but let me tell you something. I fed out a long time ago as a spirit called Leviathan and this is a spirit that actually has one of the weird characteristics of it is insomnia that people are under witchcraft attack frequently have difficulty finding rest, because their mind is racing, racing, racing. I can’t explain how this works except that this spirit have a crocodile on the cover here, because the spirit is referred to in Job as a creature of the Nile. I believe it’s in Isaiah. It’s also referred to as a creature that has multiple heads, which means that it has no sooner you deal with one area of this voice or strife then another area shows up. I personally think this is a high, one of the highest ranking principalities working in media in order to tear people apart because what it does is it twists words. It twists and the reason why that this creature of the Nile fascinates me. This crocodile is a symbol of Leviathan is because I’m watching like these movies where they show like crocodiles that are in Africa in the Nile and if they get a hold of a water buffalo leg or an antelope’s leg, you notice all of a sudden it starts to turn. Because the jaws of this creature they can’t move. Like you and I can move our jaw around. These jaws can’t move, they can only clamp. So, once they clamp, they can’t go back and forth, they can’t go forward and back they just clamp. When they do, they twist.

So, when you see this this creature with 800 pounds worth of muscle clamps on to a limb and then spins and the purpose of it is to spin until it disconnects limb. Boom and then I got the understanding how the spirit works. It spins what you say in order to twist what it means to dismember relationships. America is being torn apart. The unity of the spirit in the church. The unity of the nation is being constantly bulk and they call it balkanizing. Turning one class against another. Rich against poor. The middle class is getting wiped out in the middle and turning black against white and evangelical against agnostic. And in the news cycle, so accelerates it. Tucker Carlson listened to him the other night saying most people are not like what you’re hearing in the news. They aren’t deeply polarized. They’re actually very nice people. They’re decent people.

He’s right. But you wouldn’t know that because the minority of people that are activists moving by the spirit of Leviathan are spreading strife. Tearing apart relationships in the country. You got to bind them and break that controlling spirit off you which is why I’m doing the “Lastwallnau.com/breakout”. How to bind spirits and break Leviathan’s teeth. Bam. The serpent’s teeth in its mouth. Boom. There’s a way to do it but ironically, you can’t do it by fighting within a war of words. You got to do it in a sense by moving the opposite spirit and making sure strife doesn’t get a hold of you.

Alright, so I’m talking about strife because last week we begin the journey with the apostle Paul and Barnabas and I’m saying this is the great apostolic team that God put together. If God can put an apostolic team like that together and Satan can break it up. Oh my gosh, what are we going to do? Well, the reality is where there’s strife, there’s confusion in every evil work, if it gets into your business, if it gets into your home, if it gets into your ministry, if it gets into even good people can have legitimate differences that cause them to break apart. Let me give you an example what I mean. I’m going to go to the board. Can I go to the board guys? You guys ready for me? My team ready? I’m wandering over whether you’re ready or not. Ready or not? Here I go. So, we have an interesting dilemma. I talk frequently with leaders that are trying to get on the same page with what to do in America. Let me see if you if I could point something out here. Remember Paul and Barnabas. We’ll put Barnabas over here. Barnabas and we have Paul. Two different personalities.

My wife and I could experience this. Annabelle’s more of a Barnabas. She’s more of anencourager. Barnabas was a son of encouragement. So, Barnabas was more like the cheerful person. Paul was more the intense person. You are more likely I think to get rebuked by Paul and more likely to get hugged by Barnabas. That was two different and God put them together, mind you. God put them together. So, you have the son of encouragement who I’m going to say is a great lover. The guy is cheering people on and the apostle Paul who is call who basically is a great warrior. What I read to you last week if you saw last week’s episode is when it comes time to the sorcerer, who does the rebuking? Paul. Make sense? So, you got lovers, you got warriors.

Now, not surprisingly, the lovers they’re interested in evangelism activity, intersession activity, philanthropic activity, therapeutic activity, good works. In their mind, revival, and kind of like peaceful reconciliation acts is what they’re all about. They hate political discourse. These people over here warriors are more reformers. Turning my back to you but I got to look at it this way. The reformers, they’re interested like Martin Luther. They’re not going out there like hugging you on the street doing evangelism and opening up the food kitchen are working with handing out water bottles on a hot Sunday. No, that’s legitimate work and these people won’t criticize. That’s not what they’re going to do. They’re going to say we need to take on the corruption. We got totake on the drag queen hour that’s going on in the in school. We got to take on the they’re trying to take away your rights, your freedom of speech. Reformers are the warriors, right? And then you’ve got the lovers over here who are the revival people very frequently are like the Barnabas type.

Now, both of them are legitimate. You see how God puts the team together? You don’t want to become either or. You know why? Because if you’re doing that, you’re missing the fact Goddidn’t separate these two. In fact, he called them to work together. They’re supposed to be moving as one team. This one is the lawyer for instance that you got to call when the world is attacking you and you need to be protected. This one over here is the person you’re going to be praying with to be able to pray for your enemies but the two of them come together. Now, what happens? Gonna show you how this could be create a problem, because I frequently can’t get the lovers to work on warrior activity and the warriors don’t want to put their money and time into this because they don’t think it’s going to work. They’re both wrong and they’re both right. You guys tracking me so far?

So now we go into the life of Saul, who’s now Paul and Barnabas and I want you to see how these two are going to have a problem. This one is relationship focused; this one is task focused.Which one is right, which one is wrong? It all depends. Look when it comes time for the checklist when I’m on that flight. I don’t want the pilot to say, well, I don’t want to insult the self-esteem of the person in the tower. I don’t want to question the accuracy of the copilot. I want to let them know that I’m supporting them so I think they don’t know what they’re doing. But I don’t want to say anything I want the person in charge of air traffic control, in charge of if I go to the doc Doctor in charge of the pharmacy. I want them to be totally task obsessed. When it comes time for me to be supported, nurtured, encouraged, I want to be with someone who’s totally relationship obsessed.

The doctor who is the lousy bedside manner, I know that. I bet them. They’re really obnoxious but still I’ll put up with them because they’re really good at what they do. So, the goal is these two should be working together where they overlap. You’re going to see great works of God take place, but here’s the problem. If you have a relationship focuses, we’re going to see what happens with John Mark. This is in the Bible. Paul is going to see that this John Mark is no good for the task of ministry. He quit. He failed. He left and Barnabas is going to say, oh no, it’s my nephew. I’m going to take responsibility for him. I’ll fix it up. Don’t worry about it Paul, and Paul and Barnabas will separate because lovers and warriors can be separated over the issue of relationships or priorities. What’s the priority here? Does this make sense to you? I pray that it does because at the end of the day, you have to love America and that includes loving those who disagree with you because you were once like them. You were once like them, the apostle Paul said, don’t make him an enemy in your mind.

See, the devil is influencing them but you know what? Parents is so great. If you see the devil gets a hold of one of your kids, come on. Don’t hate them. You don’t pray, show them, teach them a lesson unless you’re sick. You pray, oh God, deliver my child. O lord, I pray because you see who they’re called to be and you go to war on the basis of it. You love them. That’s what Godneeds from us warriors. See America for who it’s called to be. These people, your enemies hate you. I get that but you have to go above that. Father, they don’t know what they’re doing. Some of them are never going to change. Others can have their eyes opened because we ourselves were once ignorant, the Bible says. I pray that you get this because lovers and warriors can disagree can tear apart. I’ve seen good Christian teams break up because they can’t agree on the task or the relationship on whether to hand out the bottles and preach the gospel or whether to actually deal with who’s in office, get on the school board and deal with the laws. It’s both. It’s not either or. I’m heading back over now.

So, I didn’t have my clear whiteboard. I call it a whiteboard but it’s not really a whiteboard, is it? What do I call it? Clear board doesn’t seem right.

Carl: Lightboard.

Speaker 1: A lightboard. It’s a lightboard. My son Carl is so brilliant. It’s a lightboard because there’s the lights on the inside of it. I want you to watch this. The apostle Paul and Barnabas are doing their team ministry before they break up but I want you to see how strife works because this is how it’s going to be happening in America. Chapter 14. Now, it happened that they went together to the synagogue of the Jews and so spoke. Chapter 14 verse 1, “Then a great multitude of both the Jews and of the Greeks believed, but the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brethren”. Man, I want to do a Rick Renner word study on poison their minds against the brethren. You talk about interesting Greek. I guarantee it.

Next time we talk, well, I’d looked it up before. It literally means to infect like a venom poisoning a mine so that it becomes vulnerable to strife and confusion and confusion and strife go together. The unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds. But look at verse 1. It happened in Iconium that Paul and Barnabas went together to the synagogue of the Jews and so spoke that a great multitude believed. What did I tell you last week? We’re going to have a war of words. I don’t want it but it’s already here. Angels are clashing in the heavens. The clashing of swords in the spirit will be the clashing of voices on planet Earth and so the apostle Paul and Barnabas spoke and the word of God under the anointing of God release the grace of God and the eyes were open and so envy came upon the Jewish leaders and said, ‘There are people listening to them rather than us and they’re not even teaching what we teach. We don’t even know what they’re teaching.’ And out of jealousy, they so spoke that they could poison them. I said, now you’ve got people speaking in the Great Awakening. Coming to America and then the people that are the poisoned fighting back.

The unbelieving, it’s always unbelief. Notice that. Unbelieving Jew. Unbelief by the way is not an inability to believe. It’s a choice not to believe. It’s when you’re hearing feeling the pressure of God‘s reasonableness is God‘s irrefutable logic and truth pressing upon your heart and you push back because it’s an inconvenient truth as Al Gore would say. Poisoning the minds of the brethren. Therefore, they stayed there a long time. I love this. Because the minds were being poisoned. They didn’t leave. They didn’t run. They stayed there a long time and spoke boldly in the lord who even made it more powerful because God gave them supernatural attestation as they stayed. We’re just going to go preach the gospel. I’m not getting political. We’re just going to go preach Jesus. Hallelujah. We’re going to speak boldly and watch God bear witness to the word of his grace granting signs and wonders to be done by the hands of the apostles but the multitude of the city was divided. Catch this. I don’t know how people are going to say, why you’re just bringing division. Brother Wallnau is just bringing you know you get involved with that preaching the gospel the way that you do. You’re just going to divide people. Well, that’s what the gospel does. He’s going to say, knucklehead but that’s not very polite. That’s what the gospel does. God gave bore witness to the word with supernatural fire and glory, signs and wonders, deliverances and miracles and healings. Done by their hands laying on of hands. But the multitude of the city was divided. Part sided with the Jews and part with the apostles. Well division comes when the gospel goes. When the gospel goes division comes. We know why? Because people get their minds poisoned. Part poisoned by what? People that are filled with envy that contradict because their personal ambition is being thwarted by your influence. We found that up from chapter 13 verse 45. It was envy and ambition that was driving the division that poisoned the minds of others.

Now, when a violent attempt was made by both the Gentiles and Jews. Well, at least the Gentiles and Jews are in unity. You notice this? How the Gentiles and the Jews actually get in unity when it comes to fighting Jesus? It’s one time I was doing, I was in a Harvard University and I remember I was saying, this is crazy. The agnostics and the atheists I guess it was the LGBTQ community and the progressives were all out protesting me along with Muslims. The Muslims were in the protest protesting me and I thought this is amazing. Who but Jesus can unite people like this? Jesus just brings people together. The problem is he wasn’t bringing it together in a good way, he was bringing together because they’re all oppositional and then the funny part is it’s funny. The Muslims refuse to protest because they found out gays were in the protest and they’re against them. Can’t make this up. Hartford Muslims wouldn’t protest with the gays.

Oh, and I had witches. Witches. That was the only witches were protest. I ran into one of the witches. She heard me speak and the Lord enable me to so speak that a great multitude both of the Jews and even the witches believe. I spoke there at the meeting at Harvard and she came up to me and said, I feel so bad. I put a thousand curses on. I mean, we had all Salem cursing you know and I didn’t know till now. You’re not bad. They misrepresented you. I said, ‘No kidding. They misrepresented.’ She said, ‘Yeah, you’re not so bad.’

Matter of fact, you’re a heck of a lot more fun than the crowd I’m hanging out with and I and I really was I met so that this Salem witch apologize for all the curses she put on me. Because she was actually finding this message was more intriguing and I wasn’t hateful. She thought, ‘I thought you for the burning of witches. I was told you believe witches should be burned.’Because someone found it in Deuteronomy or Leviticus I guess and trying to say that’s what they believe. Someone was poisoning her mind. But we want a few of them. We want some gays. We want some atheists. We want and you know what? I don’t like going to these places but the Lord said, if you don’t go, they won’t come. If you don’t go, they won’t come because they’re being poisoned against us. They don’t realize that we’re winsome. We’re smart. We’re smart like Fredoand I’m smart. They know they think we’re all a bunch of pumpkins but they present us like we’re all redneck goonies with Bible thumpers. They don’t recognize we could be winsome and thoughtful and intelligent and compassionate and engaging. Their minds are poisoned but we can extract the venom in the name of Jesus.

Anyway, they were speaking boldly with signs and wonders and the multitude of the city was divided. Well, it’s divisions coming to America folks which I’d like to say revival. I’m praying for a great awakening brother Lance that will unite the nation. No, you’re praying for a great awakening to appropriately divide it. Let’s divide it properly. Let people reject Jesus and Christianity and God for the right reasons not because their minds are poisoned because they reject it. Then let the chips fall where they may. But when a violent attempt was made by both the Gentiles and the Jews that’s where I was going. When they were all in unity together, they’re rulers to abuse and stone them. They became aware of it. Now look at this. They were bold when it came to speaking the truth. But when it came time when the Antifa riot and the BLM and they’re coming. Well, at that point when they became aware of it they took off they weren’t interested and they weren’t massacres. They weren’t looking to get bait up for Jesus. They the beating if they had to, but they fled.

The bold apostles took off. And what did they do? They went to Leister and Derby. Cities are like Cornea and to the surrounding region and what did they do there? They didn’t hide out. They didn’t have a Zoom prayer call. They preached the gospel and in Leisters, certain man without strength and his feet was sitting crippled from his mother’s womb. He had never walked and the man heard Paul speak. Here’s what happens when you’re full of the Holy Ghost. People hear you when they suddenly get faith in them from hearing and looking intently. Paul once again staring intently at him. Boy, that look of Paul. Last time I read that in the Bible, in chapter 13, he smelled a guy with blindness. In this case, he’s looking at the guy intently and he’s observed him intently and he sees this guy’s got faith.

O God, may each of us have the ability to see when faith is in someone else. Do you know someone can have faith to be refilled with the Holy Ghost, faith to be healed, faith to be delivered, faith to get saved? I have a friend of mine, Gordon Pennington, he’s led like 50 people to the lord in the last 2 months. I said, how in the world? God just shows him who has faith and he goes up to them and starts evangelizing him. It’s a strange thing. He says, with a loud voice, stand on your feet and the man just leaped up and walked. Now, why do I know that Paul was awarrior and Barnabas was a great big bear hug. I’ll tell you how come I know. When the people saw what had been done, they raised their voices saying in the Iconium language, the Gods have come down to us in the likeness of men. Barnabas, they called Zeus. You catch that? That’s Jupiter. Jupiter’s the big planet. The big guy. He probably was a big guy and a likable guy and anencouraging guy and a bear hug kind of apostle.

And Paul they called Hermes or Mercury the God of war. Mercury is the God of war. It’s the red planet. It’s a little planet. But it packs a big punch. And so, they said there’s the big happy apostle and then there’s that fighter down there. By the way, Paul was the chief speaker. I’ll take care of this Paul. He pushed Barnabas aside. Bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam and then backed up tag team. Barnabas went out there and probably dropped the net over with the gospel message and got him saved. And when they had preached the gospel to that next city in derby and made many disciples, they returned to Leister Iconium and Antioch. They went back, back, back, and they strengthen the souls of all the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith saying, we must through many tribulations. Oh, whatever happened to this verse. We must through many tribulation.

Oh, listen. I’m a word of faith guy but I know this. It’s true. It’s even in the midst of contradictions persecute for doing the job right. There’s going to be all kinds of division, all kinds of envy, all kinds of strife but we got stay in the flow of God bold and we got to know when to go flee. It ain’t easy but I’m going to tell you the verse here is, it through many tribulations we enter the kingdom of God. Meaning if you’re really going to press into the Holy Ghost, you’re going to have a lot of trouble, but you’re going to go through it. You’re not going to get stuck by it, you’re not going to get stopped by it, you’re going to experience the contradiction of circumstances and demons against you but you’re going to kind of be stay well oiled. Stay lubricated in the anointing and you’ll move through it.

So, when they had appointed elders in every church, they didn’t even wait much. This like the couple of months and they were going back and laying hands on elders. Why are we waiting for years to make people elders? The elders are already there. Lay hands on them in the first year. They appointed elders in every church. They prayed with fasting. They commended them to the Lord, which means they prophesied and laid hands and gave him a prophetic charge. You saw that happen to Timothy. He had the prophetic charge with the laying out of hands on him and then they went back to Antioch where they had been commended to the grace of God for the work which they had completed and when they had come and gathered the church together, they reported everything they had done and the lord opened the door of faith and they stayed there a long time with the disciples. And after a while, I’m going to skip over the Jerusalem conflict there, religious spirit, strife gets into the church again in Antioch and there’s a big verse 2 says, no small dissension and dispute.

Paul and Barnabas arguing, why try to keep that strife to a minimum? I don’t like getting in the spirit of debate. Well, Paul and Barnabas argued with false doctrine. When false doctrine tries to get into your children, into your church, into your business, into your nation, you got to open your mouth. And they actually had this meeting in Jerusalem to sort out what was going on. And this one I just want to say this to you because I’m going to land the plane right here. In Acts 15verse 39, the contention became sharp between who Paul and Barnabas they had an argument after some days verse 36 Paul said to Barnabas let’s go back and check on what we’ve done. Let’s go check the fruit of our works. Let’s go check those churches we planted. Barnabas was determined, catch the word “determined” he was determined, the leader was determined on the relationship priority.

Paul insisted, he was determined too and it was on he was going to not compromise the apostolic work. God‘s work is too important to compromise it on your relational vulnerabilities. Then the two of them became such a sharp contention that they departed from one another I pray in Jesus’name. Peace. Peace. Let us not let the enemy cause us to divide. Do you remember this great hymn? When peace like a river, attendeth my way and sorrows like sea billows roar. Whatever my life you have taught me to say even so, it is well with my soul. And it is well. Think about it.With my soul. It is well, it is well it is my soul. Powerful words. My sin O the bliss of this glorious, glorious thorn. My sin not just part, but the whole is nailed to the cross and I bear that no more praise the Lord it is well with my soul. Can you say that now? It is well Lord.
