Media Martyrs

I talk about the Media Mountain a lot. I consider that my main assignment. It never occurred to me that Belarus dictators and Iranian hardliners, and Chinese communists lock up journalists as if they were criminals.
The one we should not forget is Apple Daily. A one-time best-selling Hong Kong pro-American anti-communist newspaper. The 74 yr old founder, Jimmy Lai, is a larger-than-life courageous, multi-millionaire hauled off to cruel imprisonment and interrogation by China when they took over. It was one of the best-selling Chinese language newspapers, but COMMUNIST CHINA is making an example of Jimmy Lai because he was a friend of Mike Pompeo and the United States! Jimmy just had his birthday… in a prison cell. For all we know, the CEO of The Apple Daily is working in a slave camp on an Apple production line.
China (much like America) does not tolerate speech on certain sensitive subjects.
Come to think of it, we have 50 men denied due process and locked in prison cells 22 hrs a day in Washington D.C. They are in solitary confinement in intentionally cold prison cells for nearly a year. They have been denied bail when criminals are out on bail in 24 hrs in every other Democrat city. Their crime? We don’t know, but they offended the ruling class on January 6.
Maybe America is close to making the list with China, Myanmar, Iran, and Belarus.
