Reactions to Tuesday’s unprecedented Colorado state’s Supreme Court decision to remove Donald Trump from their primary ballot have been wide and varied.
While speaking at an event in Waterloo, Iowa, President Trump shared his thoughts saying how the “far-left lunatics are willing to stop us by any means necessary, and willing to violate the U.S. Constitution at levels never seen before.”
Presidential candidates Governor Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley responded but they did not specifically name Trump as their entire campaign was predicated on him being removed from the election. A strong rebuke, however, of the court’s decision came from @RobertKennedyJr, along with a bold promise from @VivekGRamaswamy, who pledged to withdraw from the Colorado primary until Trump was added back in.
The Colorado GOP group responded to Ramaswamy’s pledge saying he wouldn’t have to do that as they would “withdraw from the Primary as a Party and convert to a pure caucus system…”.
President Trump’s attorney, Alina Habba spoke with Breitbart News, sharing her take on the ruling.
Meanwhile, those who have reviewed the Colorado Supreme Court decision say there is no “historical parallel, legal precedent or Constitutional support for the all-Democrat Colorado Supreme Court to prohibit voters from choosing whom they want for President by ballot-barring Trump. Will be up to SCOTUS to stop this 3rd world style election manipulation.” @robertbarnes
Yet others have pointed out that the order has already “stayed.”
In essence, the ruling boils down to political theater, and other states, rumored to follow suit, are expected to use Colorado as their example.
