Baymax Introduces Transgender Character

Disney’s latest LGBTQ+ push now includes a character wearing the Transgender flag in a newly released 2nd season of Baymax! The TV show, which airs exclusively on Disney+, is a spin-off program from the movie Big Hero 6.
A leaked scene shows the main character, Baymax, shopping for feminine hygiene products.
Christopher Rufo, a writer, filmmaker, and activist, also known for his work exposing Critical Race Theory in public schools, first posted the clip Tuesday afternoon:

Baymax includes a couple of LGBTQ+ characters. The scene described in the clip posted by Rufo also has what appears to be a transmasculine character wearing the colors of the transgender flag.

The clip comes from the third episode titled “Sofia.” The pre-teen character heads to the all-genders restroom at her middle school. She gets her first period before a talent show, but Baymax, described as a kind robot specializing in healthcare, is ready to help and heads to the store to buy female menstrual products for Sofia.

The details of yet another episode posted by The Daily Beast describes Baymax convincing two young men to go on a date together by analyzing their same-sex attraction to each other. “Your pulse and heartbeat have quickened,” Baymax says after one asks the other out to dinner. “Your pituitary gland is secreting hormones,” he continues before an embarrassed man cuts him off.
